It's Ayu's 50th single...can you believe it?!

Okay, I don't want to get soppy her right now, but I've just unpacked my parcel that arrived from CDJapan yesterday with Ayu's 50th single in it and I suddenly realised: Guys, it's her 50th single!
This is something special and I want to use this occasion to tell Ayu something (even when she will never read it! ):

Congratulations Ayu!
I'm so VERY proud of you! Since more than ten years, you help and support people all around the world with your wonderful music and your inspiring lyrics. You do what you want and need to do, even when some people hate you for it. You don't back down or give up, you'll always walk with your head held high!!
Because of this I will always love and support you. You've told me the meaning of strength and pride and I'll be eternally grateful to you because of this.

But yeah, i've only been her fan for 2 years now, but i's like she's always been with me and i can't imagine her and her music not being in my life . Never thought music, a singer, could give me as much as she has.

When I got interested with Ayu, she had 40 singles in her hand. She already had a record for the most #1 singles, but she did NOT have the consecutive record that was held by Seiko Matsuda. Ayu only had 15 consecutive, while Seiko had 24.

Now, almost four years, four or five albums later, and ten singles, it's already a milestone here! I'm quite really excited for Ayu's 50th single - especially when this could be the record-breaking single for the history books - which is to break Seiko's record of consecutive #1 singles, with Ayu having 24 consecutive as of today!

No matter what, Ayu's still viable in the Japanese pop music industry. Her actions surely enough will be remembered as one of the greatest Japanese pop artists in history, and what she has been saying (she's NOT going to retire anytime soon) will keep Ayu for the next decade or two to come, maybe even three decades.

When I first got into her, she was just finishing her first trilogy. To think she's on her second celebrating her 50th single is just rather freaky. Haha!

I remember seeing the advertisement for "L" saying "&" was the last maxi-single released 7 years ago; I thought, "oh my god, has it really been 7 years?! *remembers '&' was released in 2003' holy jesus lord, it has!" To think I've been through 9 studio albums, 1 mini-album, 4 compilations, and 37 singles, all in 10 years is just mind-blowing.

If (when) she breaks the record of consecutive #1 singles, it'll be yet another thing I've been through, but at the same time it's something so huge I'm sure all of us will feel as if we've been with her since "poker face".

I probably didn't make much sense, but I'm just floored it's her 50th single. To 50 more?

I've been with Ayu since 2000, and I can't believe it's already been this long! Almost 12 years now~ It's unbelievable!

i realized yesterday when i looked back that i've been a fan of ayumi since her 20th single, M. i've been with her thru 30 singles...and it just feels unbelievable. for a long time i felt like such a new fan, feeling like i had missed out on so much of her career, but looking back i've been a fan of hers for most of her career now. its amazing to have followed her for this long.

ayumi means so much to me! i feel like i must be some kind of loser, but honestly, i consider ayumi to be an important part of my life.

When appears/LOVEppears came out I was only 14 and never really thought about Ayu getting to a 50th single. I can believe it's her 50th single but I just can't believe how long I've been on this journey with her as a fan to see this point in her career.

Wow, to think about this achievement.... She's been my hero for about 8 years now, and I can't imagine life not knowing her. Her music has helped me get through so many tough times, and I'm so grateful for that. I'll continue to support her as long as she's the inspiring person she's been all these years.
