Let's not get too excited here...it's only the beginning! At least Arashi might have been respecting Ayu by putting Dear Snow on October 6th...

Not a big drop from crossroad's sales, but a huge lead over the #2. Overall, success.

crossroad deserves to sell more than L, tbh. It's a much better single... the only redeeming thing from L is the remixes of the songs from the crossroad single.

I think my expectations were a little too high as well. I was imagining higher sales because this is her 50th single, but hey... You can only get so many sales with just a bit of promotion!

Wow, lower than crossroad. But hey, I think crossroad was a much better song and beats all three from L. Every single song on L sounds like an album track - almost album filler-ish. You can't say that these three songs have the impact of STEP you, fairyland, SEASONS, etc. They don't even have the impact of the best album tracks like my name's WOMEN, Microphone, Ladies Night. Nice to listen to but Ayu can do much better. Or at least she used to be able to.

^ That's your personal opinion. my name's WOMEN is hardly a song that should be compared to anything on L, as at least the new songs easily beat that one by far.

Nothing wrong or unexpected about those numbers. Let's just hope it doesn't drop as much as crossroad did tomorrow, though considering everything it is expected.

It's a matter of opinion and feelings...
For me Virgin Road gets close to the level of HEAVEN and Last angel is on the same level as Connected.

OMG, are you kidding me people...? Lol. Ok, I will admit it's opinions vs. opinions with Ayu but I just have to honestly admit to myself that L was a disappointment. I mean, we all fantasized about the day when she'd return with a maxi-single to continue the A/H/& trend. We fantasized about that kind of quality, that kind of epicness, that kind of effort. Then here it comes and it just doesn't live up to the hype. I think after the next album I'll take a year break from Ayu.

I would like Last Angel more if the synths were more "in your face" (as they are in Connected). You can barely hear them. I want more power.

I think we've got exactly what we've been looking for. It's just that you can't expect to like everything right away, as ballads aren't supposed to be catchy like Trauma or ourselves ^^ especially when you don't understand the language they're in. Both Virgin Road and Sweet Season took a few days for me to like and they might not be her best ballads, but they are really good songs. Last angel's still my fave out of the 3 though. It might be the best for you to switch to someone else then, as Ayu's pretty much done with adjusting to what the people want Now we simply have to adjust to what she thinks is good

I personally was very serious
For me it lived the hype with a bang.

I love Last angel how it is since the melody is really pretty and I don't think that it's lacks something just because it's a laid back trance.
I can understand though people that wanted it to be "all out".
I love it as it is since it's really pretty.
I wouldn't really care where these songs would be but together they make a very solid single, for me.

Well I just miss the ballads that grabbed me from the start, such as Moments, walking proud, JEWEL, perhaps even rainy day.

I always feared the day a new "up-and-coming" J-popstar would take the center-of-attention but I'm pretty much ready for that now.
