I find that to be fine. I don't want the sweet untainted Hikki to start becoming an attention wh**re or releasing low quality, generic material to satisfy the fans.

Anyway, there is no way in hell this album is becoming the Oricon #1 for the year. 5 weeks is just not enough. HEART STATION only did like 750,000 in 5 weeks....plus that was 2008, her sales will probably be lower this time.....so congrats to Arashi i guess. -_-

Hmm for me it's the other way around. I always have fantasies about Hikki being my best friend, and us hanging out and having intelligent discussions and stupid talk about noodles and bears together.

She reminds me of myself.

But of course I only know her from her blogs, so she might not be anything like me at all. Although I'm pretty sure she's a lot more like me than Ayu or Kuu or any other popstar.

People will probably get mad at me for saying that about her...but they don't have to believe it. Meh. We all have ups and downs in our personalities...still I won't disturb them in magical happy hikki land.

Hikki radiates an aura that belongs to those "intelligent but incapable of socialize" people. I dun think her personality is going that far, but for sure it's a bit incompatible with entertainment industry. In addition, she belongs to the group of "real musician". Her music talent is surely above standard, but her performance (i.e., something besides singing) is quite poor. It's actually quite rare to see such an artist can be at the very top of the industry. I mean, how often do you see an artist, always hiding herself, get loads of love from the general public? The hiding of course will extend an artist's "freshness" from the public. At the same time people will forget about one's existence.

IMO tho, once you strip away her singer/artist identity, her "aura" may not be that obvious. She could be just a wise lady that you can chat with, be friend with, etc.

^that's true, and honestly, it's something I've seen and have had experience with...but...I think sometimes, she ought to take some of her intelligence and look more into modesty and diligence.

I think as she ages she'll probably discover this stuff...as most people do...so...meh.

I think her and I would actually be great friends, especially since her personality mirrors a lot of those of some of my best friends...but, I think...those small things about her personality might prevent me from being as close to her, as I could.

I do agree...that personality is a bit incompatible...but, there are some things I wished, as an intelligent person, she would have handled differently.

I think actually, it's because she is so intelligent, that I expect more out of her, and feel more comfortable to talk to her in certain ways.

Well... she is the daughter of one of Japan most popular singers and of one of Japan's biggest producers ever (considering he produced two of Japan biggest stars) and she was a demi-goddess pop singer since she was 15... IMO the only things that really prevented her from going all Britney and freaking out like most of children big stars, are:
-She lived on a place where she was the biggest star of the decade but also lived in a place where she was pretty much nobody
- Her mother had already given up on fame, what means that her family most likelly knows it's dark side...


She herself said she was pity for Britney cuz she knew she herself could grow like that and have similar problems, didn't she? She isn't very different from any other child start raised and produced by money hungry parents IMO... the good thing is that she was able to handle it pretty well considering everything...

I think, from her twitters anyway, she has a joke with her fans and does appreciate them. For example, I saw someone had 'dedicated' their 100th tweet to her and she thanked them lol, which was sweet

But in the end she makes it more clear than other artist that she has a divide between when she performs as an artist and her personal life. And maybe she's sour about her life being all about singing, hence the big hiatus she's announced. But who knows? Hikki is quirky we all know that And maybe she is cold and distant, and I'm sure if her parents hadn't introduced her to the recording world she wouldn't of become a singer. That said she obviously enjoys singing now or else she would of quit, but she might become a little more warmer to her fans after the hiatus, who knows~
