[2009] Should Ayu replace Peco and Princess?

i dont know about this... but in my opinion, peco really destroyed ayu's concert in decision in CDL 07-08

They sucks.... But if we suggest removing them in TA, i think ayu will scold all of us.. LOL.

But seriously, ayu should use her brains sometimes, yea, she and peco can remain as friends, but please get some better back up singers... Since she's so picky about her dancers, she should look into her back up singers too.

But i dont agree to remove them. i admit i hated both since ayu used them in 2003. Only until recently then i appreciated their efforts in concerts. cos without them, there wouldnt be much of an entertaining value. SERIOUSLY.

especially for songs like A Song for XX and is this LOVE? 3 long haired lady screaming their lungs out with their hair flying like mad women. that was PWN.

Isn't Peco a choreographer too? Maybe she should retire from singing and just become a choreographer

the ending of will at PCDL was SO BAD. It was like OMG YAY AYU'S SINGING WILL and then....wow, they just ruined the song. (in my opinion at least )

in my case, i would say you already get used to their shouting

Sometimes I think that when it comes to big music stars they should be able to afford the best singers/dancers etc.
And sometimes when I hear Peco and Princess I wonder why hasn't she chosen someone else.
But at the end of the day (and during most of the lives) their voices do compliment each other.
Also, Ayu seems to have developed a strong bond with her crew. Doubt she'll be replacing them anytime soon, unless they quit.

but now I feel that..."Ayu" is like...a band.

You know, when Koda goes on stage, or Namie or something...it's like...you barely even take notice of who the dancers are...let alone everyone in the band.

But Ayu's band is different. It's like...you gotta take them as they are...as if they were an actual band, and they were performing their songs.

And that's too optimistic.
But I don't think she will make changes, like many people have said here, Ayu stuff has made strong bonds and it won't change because (we think) they do not make it well.
I do not like the effects that they create.

They are both not the best singers in the world but Ayu and her stuff always seem to be like a family. By replacing them it would be like searching for a new mum.

yes. I don't know about japan, but in america, it's called favoritism to hire your friends, and it's illegal. Who knows how many other singers contested to be her back up singer and she chose them cause they're bffs.

When I first started watching Ayu shows I thought they were horrendous, Peco especially, but I quickly grew to love them. I love how Ayu's band are total misfits, not what you'd expect for her, and it works so well. She should never replace Peco and Princess, it would never be the same without them!

Darren Hayes' back up female singer has been Anna-Maria La Spina, who, apart from having her own stuff, was a back up singer for Madonna- ---edited!!!

It was Donna De Lory the back up singer for Madonna

Both Anna-Maria & Donna have an incredible voice ~

I don't get all the "they sux at singing" thing... Both girls have control over her voices and hit all the notes they should o.O They only problem I have with them is when they harmonize and Ayu goes off-key, making it all sounding pretty bad

the only real bad part of their singing is when the song should have been over 3 minutes ago and they're just going "yeah yeah yeaahhh yyyyeeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhh" over and over while ayu goes and changes into her 60th costume for the 4th song. Then I'm really like "ok we get it! end the song already! you are straining your voices, off key, and are way too old to hold a long note anyways"

Yeah although everyone is saying they don't sing well and don't blend well with ayu's vocals, i actually think they do! Princess takes the lower harmony and Peco takes the upper. i think when people say Peco is too loud sometimes it's just that she's singing higher than ayu. of course she's singing higher notes than ayu and would probably have to get louder to reach those (or go into head voice but then you won't be heard), but i think they mess around with the mixers to make sure she isn't louder than ayu before any concert/live. so if you're still saying she drowns out ayu even though that's usually what upper harmonies do... then you should blame the sound mixer guy for the volume problems xD oh which also makes me think of any of those horrid "oooh aah yeah yeah" lines at the beginning or ends of the songs. definitely have to blame ayu more... sure if you don't like them, but ayu was the one who has final say for everything in her concerts. choreo and any ideas go through her so if she didn't like it she wouldn't have put it in her concert. and i do agree that sometimes the ooh's aah's and even the double guitar solos for songs take a long time, but ayu is somewhere changing and getting ready to come back out so it's understandable haha

that's also a good point! i think another reason they can't be replaced might be the reasons everyone else hates them. they're too prominent and that could be confused as trying to take the stage away from ayu. but i see it more as looking at ayu's "musical family" and how comfortable they are with each other on stage. plus they fit in really well in terms of looks. the rest of ayu's band seems to be older people... no one is at all youthful anymore, but that shows how long they've been together! and i like that the band/dancers have personality rather than other artists who keep them in the background. it makes the concert more personal and makes me feel like they aren't just hired help.

but yeah i can see how those thing can be annoying, but for me i see them another way i guess :/ um maybe if you saw them in more of an anime perspective... think of ayu's band as the cast of some goofy family anime and it'll be more acceptable xD
