Hmm... the part where she speaks about the importance of make-up... I disagree with that.

I agree with you. Not often I disagree with Ayu, but I do on what she says about make-up. Self value shouldn't come from make-up~ most of the girls I know who think like that feel they can ONLY go out with make-up and have very little self confidence, even though they're beautiful (more beautiful even) without make-up. Become confident in yourself, don't become confident in your make-up. It comes across as Ayu is saying "it's okay~ just ignore it with make-up!"

Nevertheless, thank you for this translation! I love the part on why she wanted to sing SEVEN DAYS WAR. ♥

When a girl has little to no self-confidence, make-up can let her see that she can be beautiful. And when she knows that, she'll put effort into herself (better skincare, eating healthy, being more ladylike etc) so she will look better. Then there will come one day when she realizes that she has indeed become more beautiful. Make-up can change lives, not forever, but by kick-starting the process. I think that's what ayu's trying to bring across.

That said, we have to understand that Japan is a country where it's actually considered rude to leave the house without some basic foundation on, so make-up's more important for them than us.
