Kanjani 8 held a live concert at Tokyo Dome for their nation tour, “KANJANI∞ LIVE TOUR 2010→2011 8UPPERS“ on December 19th.

Since it’s a Christmas season, they placed a 26m high Christmas tree on the stage, and Ohkura Tadayoshi came out in a Santa Claus costume, while Nishikido Ryo in a reindeer costume. They performed a total 28 songs which were mainly from their latest album, “8UPPERS“, for an audience of about 55,000. During the concert, member Yokoyama Yu, who has lost his mother in May this year, told the audience, “There was something really hard on me this year, but the members always stayed with me. I love Kanjani 8.”

At the concert, there was an announcement that they will be singing a theme song for ongoing anime, “Crayon Shin-chan” starting in February, and also, the theme song for its upcoming movie, “Crayon Shin-chan Arashi wo Yobu Ougon no Spy Daisakusen” which will be released on April 16th. The details of the songs have not been revealed, but we will report on it when it is.

Kanjani8 santa surprises fans and confirms news songs will be released next year



Japan’s tallest moving Christmas tree, Santa Claus, reindeer, and revealing they would be the first music artist to release two anime theme songs simultaneously were surprises delighting 55,000 Kanjani8 fans at their Tokyo Dome concert on December 19, reports Sankei Sports, Nikkan Sports, Chunichi Sports, Daily Sports Online, and Movie Walker.

Fans at the Sunday concert were treated to a sight of the 26 metre tall Christmas tree and all seven Kanjani8 members dressed in Christmas outfits including Tadayoshi Okura (25) as Santa Claus and Ryo Nishikido (26) as a reindeer.

“We wanted to do something Christmas-y,” said Yu Yokoyama (29).

The group also revealed they would be singing the theme song to popular TV anime “クレヨンしんちゃん (Crayon Shin-chan)” and the anime’s upcoming movie “クレヨンしんちゃん 嵐を呼ぶ 黄金のスパイ大作戦 (Crayon Shin-chan Arashi wo Yobu Ougon no Spy Daisakusen)”. It is the first time a music artist has been responsible for singing the theme song to an anime TV show and movie at the same time. It is also the first movie theme song for the group.

“I’m really happy. Our song’s going to played on those huge movie screens,” said Shota Yasuda (26)

Although it may seem odd Kanjani8, whose members are all from Japan’s Kansai region, be placed in charge of an anime which is set in Kanto region’s Saitama prefecture, but the show’s organisers have said they had been waiting for a chance to collaborate with Kanjani8 for almost two years.

“(Kanjani8) are a group who can both be funny and cool. They fit the ‘Crayon Shin-chan’ world image perfectly,” said one of the anime’s producers.

It has been reported the group’s members were happy to take on their new project, with Yokoyama encouraging group member Subaru Shibutani (29) to do his best Crayon Shin-chan impersonation on stage.

“Ohh, オラのはらしんのすけ〜 (Ora Nohara Shinnosuke, I’m Nohara Shinnosuke).”

Even a usually cool Nishikido had a go.

“Ohh…I can’t do it,” he said before clinging onto Yasuda’s shoulder.

But as Nishikido noticed a sneaky smile on Yokoyama’s face, he was quick to involve his fellow group member.

“That’s unfair Yokoyama-kun! Let me see you try it!,” Nishikido said, which lead Yokoyama to try and fail his impersonation in front of 55,000 fans.

Kanjani8′s songs will go on air on the Crayon Shin-chan anime show from February 2011, while the Crayon Shin-chan movie is set to be released on April 16.

my friend went for their concert on Sun before she attended BREAKERZ's yesterday haha

she had a great time & she said Maruyama impersonated Watenabe the battlefield cameraman during the MC & that Maruyama did a much better job than what DAIGO did lmao

but anyway yeah I can understand why the producers said that about Eito . Given their fun personality , it's not very surprising why they have been picked to sing/promote Shin Chan xD

yoko as soy sauce (he didn't look too happy ), yasu as fish (i think?), i have no idea what maru and okura were supposed to be dressed as. hina as the "sushi master"? and ryo as....i don't know this one either. i don't have much knowledge on japanese food! and hina as sushi! what an epic and AMAZINGLY FUNNY performance! i'm still laughing!

they totally saved the show! they did KT's real face pretty good, too!

During Arashi songs and Seishun Amigo (and anymore?), Eito danced in the sushi customes~ Omg, Seishun Amigo O.O Watching Sushi dancing to that song..

Yoko said that Arashi was cool a few times while watching their performance.

During Sushi Kui nee!, three sushi laid on the floor and Yoko pretended to pour soy sauce on them XD

After the song finished performing, two of the sushi wasn't able to get up!! Had people to help them. Rofl!!

They carried a big plate of sushi and ate a piece. Sushi eating sushi..

When they left to change outfits, everyone left except for Yoko. Yoko kept pouring soy sauce XD Lastly, he bent over too much that the top costume came off.

okay, i watched JE CDL and these boys stole the show. LMFAO. omg they are the most precious little things ever. Yoko as Soy Sauce was just pure hilarity and genius. and omg @ smiley!Ryo at the beginning. i absolutely love these boys live. i'd do anything to see them live one of these days.

Kanjani8 performs new song “T. W. L.” on their countdown live

Kanjani 8 held a countdown live for the second year in a row at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka on December 31st, and they performed a new song, titled “T. W. L.“, which will be released in the spring. The song will be used as new theme song for ongoing anime, “Crayon Shin-chan“, starting on the broadcast in Feburary.

According to Daily Sports, the recording for the new song was just finished 4 days ago, so it was like making an impromptu performance for the members. However, they seemed to enjoy the song a lot, as member Nishikido Ryo said that he feels good singing the song. Kanjani8 performed a total of 27 songs and captivated the audience of 45,000.
