I'm gonna say that's more of an Avex decision, not ayu...

True, but i want bluray too. Artists like Namie, DBSK, Ai Otsuka etc are all getting bluray options. So should Ayu.

But having Ayu's music in the highest quality is never a bad thing lol.
Yes she does, which is something I like. I'm not complaining but I do think it's still odd.

But actually, this whole "if you have HQ equipment" stuff...I mean, you need REALLY HQ stuff. It's not like, just go buy $400 headphones and $1000 speakers and you're fine.

This is like, near recording quality, and you need that stuff to appreciate it. Apparently, it goes beyond just "sound" perception.

But I'm sure we're going to have 50 million people who can hear the difference like night and day lol

Even though I'm about 99% positive, that, there's like probably like 2 people here who know what 44kHz 24 bit actually means.

I mean, for me, this is a good thing, because I want to move away from the standards everyone has now. I mean, we should all be listening to music, in at least lossless format....but is that practical? No, everyone still wants 320 cbr which is, not ideal at all.

Whatever, all I'm saying is, there is A LOT that goes into these track qualities and such...and, the difference isn't going to be huge, unless they MAKE it so. And that's not a good thing, because it means that all her other stuff was crappily made lol

This is not a complaint, so people dont be idiots and be like "why are people complaining." This is just whats on my mind about it.

And it's cool that Ayu is at the forefront, but I wonder who actually came up with this idea, because I doubt she is really privy to the whole audio debates lol

I don't think I'm understanding what you're saying correctly, are you saying that to get people to notice a difference they would have to make the quality on her CD lower and that if the that's the case than all of her CDs were crappily made?

The quality that they're making these songs in is so high that it won't fit on a CD, right? In order to have songs fit on CD format the quality has to be lowered anyway so I guess this release is a way of saying, here's what the music REALLY sounds like. And if you get the CD-only and the USB, you could probably compare and see for yourself which you prefer, no? If fans LOVE the UHQ format, Ayu would probably make it available again the future (like she's doing the USB thing again) and if fans don't notice the difference and would rather stick with the CD for less money, she could continue down that path. I think this release, just like with the majority of her releases since Memorial address, is about choice. And the only way to see if fans will like the UHQ format is to make it available.

^nonono lol Sorry, what I'm saying about the rest of the stuff being crappily made, is not that it is, because we dont know yet...

But, see, the differences to our human ears, which only hear frequencies below 20 kHz, should be very negligible, and for most people, there should be none at all...but with very good equipment, you should be able to tell a bit of difference, if you know what you're looking for.

I'm just saying that, if the difference comes out night and day, if it's that huge, between the UHQ, and the lossless from the CDs, then, that poses quality questions for the CD, OR it poses you to ask what they did exactly to the UHQ to make it that different.

I think for most people, what we'll hear is, added affects of the instruments and stuff, echos, and vibrations, etc. Which is nice lol

Honestly, I hope she does make it available for all future releases. I wish she still did the dvd-audio too, because the only way people are going to progress with technology, is if you make them.

I'm not criticizing her for releasing it, I just think it's peculiar. I also think it's peculiar they haven't done the blu-ray lol

They had better release that tour on Blu-ray.

I mean they've been releasing random Ai Otsuka concerts on Blu-ray for years now.

I belong to these 2 people ^__^ (and it's 48kHz... 44kHz is standard frequency used on CDs actually).

And about blu-ray, i don't care about it, since i find them so overpriced and i don't have the proper equipment to read them anyway...
BUT, i still think that Ayu should release Blu-Rays, since it's gonna be a standard by few years.

Okay, removing the idea that she had short hair in the cover. Now I'm neutral in the Love songs covers...

Plus the nice thing about Blu-ray players is that they're region free (unless the DVD function is still coded by region), so that saves a lot of trouble too.

I'm not that familiar with the pricing trends in Europe, but I know the price of Blu-ray players has decreased a lot over the last few months here in the US. I've seen several priced around US$65 (about €49) lately.

And of course, the USB-micro SD cover had to be the best of the three. >___> The tracklist is very intriguing though.

"do it again".... sounds like a dance track! I won't get my hopes up too high though.

"insomnia" sounds like an interlude but I hope it's a song, because that title is epic. I love the title "November" as well, could be a lovely ballad.

When Ayu had a photo of herself in a dance studio's mirror, she said something like "Dance dance do it again" in the blog entry. I hope that it's a lyric from the chorus, haha.

In Europe, well in France actually, Blu-Ray players are still very pricey... just because almost every of them can play DVD (of course) and can burn DVD too.
And Blu-Rays ARE region-coded... Unfortunately, JPN Blu-Rays and European Blu-Rays don't have the same region code, whereas DVDs are coded in region 2 in both countries.

Since the PS3 upscales regular DVD's to "light HD" I don't have the biggest problem with her not releasing her concerts in Blu-ray format, but it would be nice if Avex would at least provide us with that option. It's not like there's not a market for it, seeing that Otsuka's concerts are released on Blu-ray.
