Their first meeting occurred while filming Virgin Road in Los Angeles in August 2010 and then, and Manuel appeared in the MV as a husband Ayumi. Both met again in filming Angels and Love song Last October. It seems during their two-month pause in touch via e-mail and telephone.
"I, Ayumi Hamasaki, met with an irreplaceable love, as a human being and as a woman. I believe we were close to immortality. Mannie who became my husband's in MV Virgin Road will be my husband in real life !!!!!" Ayumi wrote on the site TeamAyu.
