Maybe it isn't good to be emotional bound to a artist like that, but it is a pleasure most of the time.
LOL that sounds really cute. I think she would make a great mother so I'm hoping she has kids one day, but she seems to be putting love on the back burner for a while based on her interviews lately.

I also don't think she would have the same kind of freak out that Ayu had when she announced she was married. I think that's when the emotional bonds to an artist start to get creepy.

I agree with Kingdom, that people grow tired of artists. Just check shout-box of any artist on last.fm who's more than 6-7 years on stage. Most of the comments are like these: "what's happened to his/her/their music? I want my old xx back" or "I want something new! Why he/she keeps releasing the same music over and over" The truth is we - humans are never satisfied.

I hate that classy-kuu wearing that hair, that dresses and just claming the crow to clap their hands while she is going right and left to the stage...

This first, and second, after lollipop, pop diva, the fishbowls, GTBR, universe tour... I was expecting a sexy album, and the first we get are: Hey baby!, Bambi, and Melting. Seriously, three cute songs?? And then, the 2011 tour is going to be in small places.... Bah...!

I don't know if all of this is good or bad, I only thing that the most things I love from that woman are her sexy image, her hot songs, her amazing stadium performances... and it seems that she wants to put all of this out of her career with the new decade that starts with Dejavu.

Sorry I'm worried, anyway I'll wait for Dejavu and then judge properly
I don't really think you should be that worried about her image just from a few lives. DMP/Universe/Fantasia still had some sexiness. I don't think she's going to give that up, at least not anytime soon. I'm just more concerned about her music in general because she's not consistent at all. sometimes I really don't know what she is thinking when she picks out some of her songs, and then sometimes they are just really amazing. it's like in one year she can go from releasing some of her worst songs, to some of her best. it's to the point where I'd rather have just a lot of average music from her than those two complete opposites.

What 'bout Physical thing performance at UNIVERSE? It was more than just "sexy".

I hope Aitakute sounds like Suki Dex3. I love this son

I think that's still a long while off. Has she even dating at all?

To the people worried about her "small concert tour" ...

Quote:
Typically, when you say ‘Koda Kumi’, people think of an artist who puts ‘performance’ first. But in truth, it has always been about the music itself to me. I was filled with insecurities, but Koda Kumi was born out of music itself, and that’s what allowed me to grow confident. Because of this, I want to share the ‘music’ part also with people who aren’t my fans. That is currently a very big dream of mine.

As the first step to make that dream come true, I held a live performance in a place called Billboard Live for 300 people this year, with music as the main component. I held that performance because I want people to know a new Koda Kumi. That’s why I wanted to only use music. I really enjoyed singing so closely to the guests. I focused on the music and gave it my all, so it only lasted 70 minutes, but I felt a real sense of accomplishment. It made me happy that the number of people buying my CD rose after that performance. Surely that’s because people who hadn’t been fans before but went to the performance, afterwards thought: ‘I want to hear her songs’. So I think it was worthwhile. I want to use music as the foundation more in the future.

I don’t just want to hold performances in small venues in order to do that. I also want to hold concerts in big venues that include parts which are only about the music. My concerts have storylines, so I think it’s really difficult to make a scene that has both entertainment and a music focus, but I want to make it work somehow. The viewpoint of people who have liked Koda Kumi’s ‘performance’ aspect up until now might also change. So I now want to create a section where the music takes centre stage at next year’s tour thanks to my experiences at the Billboard Live.

This year my 10th anniversary passed by. My thoughts towards music have intensified with each passing year. Lately I feel that I also have to pay attention to what time of year it is when I select a new song. For example, when picking a new song during the cold season, I gravitate towards gentle songs. But when I hold live performances in spring, the album that I release before that time definitely needs to contain powerful songs as well. So if I release an album in spring, and I have to select songs at a time when I’m excited, I feel I can’t record sharp songs. Actually, I also selected songs in Brazil for my next album. Because my surrounding were different, the things that inspired me were also different, so I selected different songs from usual. It made me realize how much my feelings sway from left to right when I select songs. All the things that have piled up year by year, create the current Koda Kumi. I have lately been reminded of this.

I really wasn't expecting that my comment could make that amount of opinions xD
To be honest, all of u are explaning good points of view, but the thing is that I'm a kuu fan since her secret era, so I saw all her evolution as an artist and as a person as well. The point now is that I'm not feeling the new era is comming... and with all her previous changes I didn't felt the same! (except with the hiatus, the comeback with moon crying and that ain't cool was horrible for me hahaha)

But as I said, I'll wait for Dejavu and see what's on it!

I agree. When Kuu's music is good, it's REALLY, REALLY GOOD and when it's not it's... well, not lol. I have to say that Kuu's music usually grows on me in time, but I find it so interesting that she can be inconsistent like this, because I think it shows she takes risks and wants to try as many styles as she can. So I try to give her the benefit of the doubt and be patient.

Really about the whole disappointing thing , Kuu is not a kind of artist who stick in one type of song , so for example maybe a lot of people find BAMBI and her other types one of her worst and another find it's her best yet

so maybe if I'm not wrong that's why Kuu is one of japan best selling artist , making a lot of types in her album .

That is all so subjective to taste though... just because you don't like her music / think it's horrible sometimes and great others, there are people who like all the songs, and some who think her "really really good" music is actually really bad. The problem there doesn't really stick with Koda Kumi, it's more of your listening taste.

Though you may not like some songs, you can't deny that she puts work into them. If she half assed everything, then I think it would be acceptable to say "her music has gone downhill"

Oh I know, that's why I said I have patience and her music grows on me, because what I don't like on a first listen I'll grow to like in time. That's one of the things I really like about Kuu, to be honest. She challenges my taste in music and the way she approaches it actually makes me like stuff I'd never listen to, even if my first impressions aren't that great. So when I say she can be really really good, and not, I mean that's how I see it from my initial listens/taste, which like I said usually changes. I'm sorry I didn't make that clear And that I'm probably talking in circles now. Wah.

oh no, I understand you perfectly! I just see comments a lot of the time (and this is about every artist under the sun) that their music is no longer "good" compared to what they used to make. Sometimes this is true, like some artists stop giving a crap about their careers (Kiely Williams and that hotass mess Spectacular).

But for two of my favorite artists like Kuu (the hate for her constant cutesy songs) and Ayu (the hate for her constant midtempo ballads) people usually say their quality of music is going downhill, but really it's not. Kuu is one of the most hardworking artists and I'm thankful she's releasing any music at all. She could pull an Utada and we all know how that would go.

Yeah, I'd really hesitate to say that an artist is going downhill in a serious way; just because I don't like something, doesn't mean it's not quality, you know? And lol yes she COULD pull an Utada, we all should bear that in mind...

I'm glad I wasn't just rambling nonsense, then. That's a relief o/

I could imagine that she finds love just now, when she wants to focus on work. Somehow it always works like that, if you're desperately want to marry you can't find the right partner, and as soon as you stop thinking about it, you find the right one.

That reminds me of a JK Rowling interview I was watching yesterday, when she said the moment she resigned herself to not finding the man she was looking for, a week later she met her future husband, haha.

OMG VIDEO.
