I agree on everything you said too.
I can listen to it and enjoy it a bit, but everything is very bad produced... I don't know what she was thinking about. Everything looks/sounds cheap to me. Early 90's as some people said, not in a good way... That's why I'm not really ok with these collabs.

I don't get what people were hoping for here, all this thread was going to be was either people agreeing or defending what they like. Forget 'square one', there's no real 'deep' discussion to be had from this thread's basis

Even worse then, she did this song with him. It was pure embarrassment for me to watch the musicvideo for the first time. If I recall it correctly, I only watched it once anyways.

Same for the single. I had it on my MP3-Player for like 1 day or so, then deleted it and never listened to it again, lol.

I'm neutral towards the song. It's not really Ayu's song so it doesn't bother me if it's good or bad. It was Ayu's first production effort and naturally it's a little rough around the edges because it's a first time producer and a first time artist. I think their song on FIVE won't be as bad for two reasons: 1) It's Ayu's song not Urata's, so the song will be fitted towards HER taste and NOT to accommodate him, and 2) Her regular producer will be overseeing the production, I HIGHLY doubt Max will suggest Ayu put out something even remotely similar to DREAM on. And if it does end up like DREAM on, which I doubt, I could just skip it. No big deal.

I heard a 2 minute preview of it and i don't like it, i don't think it's something special or meant to be groundbreaking in terms of lyrics or music, just an average pop song created to be played on the radio. It does suck, hehehehe...

The problem, Coelacanth,might be that you are expecting something that it's likely not happening. Ayu used to do fantastic pop songs that were truly beautiful - i agree with you, i love ourselves- but she's in another wave now, and it is horrible when you expect something from someone and it doesn't turn out the way you wanted to. Honestly, i am not a fan anymore and i don't consider her a Godess or smth (im so much more into other things now) tho there are things that keep me coming back to her. it's better, in my opinion, just sit back, watch what she's doin' and return to your things.

The last thing she did that i actually liked was the acoustic orchestra version... but that was pretty much it. I don't have huge expectations with her anymore

i've always liked the song. maybe i don't love it like ayu's own songs, but i've never hated it or anything.
