I believe this is where the MC cracks on Girls' Generation.

ALSO.

This Cover of "The Boys" (Japanese Version) cracked me up for 3 reasons. First, the cover.

1. Here are some excerpts from her description:

"hey guys! this is my cover of snsd's The Boys in Japanese!
* warning: my japanese pronunciation is probs not so great x_x, so please bear with me!
i'm a chinese-born american covering a japanese song sang by a korean group xD so yeah it's not going to be perfect, sorry T_T

that intro part is literally 9+ tracks of my voice, and it took forever to mix ohh geee x___x and that rap chorus just sounds like me blabbing randomly, i hope that turned out okay!"

Now after reading that, I expected to hear some timid chirp chirp mess all over the place and then I hear Beyonce Knowles (Not singing skill, but ferocity and attitude).

2. 2:59 during Jessica's run. I LULED AND LULED some more.

3. 3:33 during Jessica's last "Girls Brings The Boys Out". Sounds like she got murdered. I was literally gasping for breath through the LULZ then hoped she was okay. I was choking, but I didn't want the LULZ to stop.

I will come back to this video for more often.

Oh so that's what he said after the girls performed..

No wonder the set atmosphere suddenly got awkward

The girls' Japanese in The Boys is not that good, but if we listen to their other Japanese songs, their Japanese is actually pretty good. I think it's about the pronunciation, the way they spell Japanese words were terrible there, like how they did in Run Devil Run Japanese version.

It's more than obvious that the girls couldn't get enough time to study Japanese thoroughly, and if I'm not wrong, for title songs and foreign language songs like these, they were mentored/guided by native speakers about the language and they're guided on 'how to sing' the line, what kind of feel to be shown, things like that. If the guide think their pronunciation was terrible, then they had to record that part again. This is based on Hyoyeon's experience when she's recording The Boys English version. She couldn't say the phrase "We born to win" well enough to satisfy the recording staff and then Sooyoung did it for her.

I know the mc was joking (or at least tried to), but yeah it's a bit harsh though. But I hope this experience will make SM re-plan their strategy. Japan is not the only goal for the girls, as they're testing the bigger market's water now. I hope SM won't just recklessly make the girls do something without giving them enough time to get themselves prepared. Well people would still buy their releases, money would flow to SM's pocket, but the girls would get the negative criticism for not being ready. It's unfair for the girls. :/

That's not AT ALL a valid excuse. It boils down to her being an English speaker (being a Chinese American has nothing to do with anything) singing a Japanese song (once again, SNSD being Korean has nothing to do with that). God, way to make excuses for sucking...

But to be honest, I've heard a lot worse. I think it was just wretchedly produced.

If the lyrics weren't on the screen I wouldn't have understood half of what they're singing. I mean, they've been releasing songs for the Japanese market for almost a year by now, they should have gotten at least marginally better. If KARA can do it, so can they.

And for Hamada-san? He's like that all the time. It doesn't matter who you are. I didn't really see anything bad about it and what he actually said isn't as rough as what the article says. He was pretty tame actually and it was more of allkpop or whatever sensationalizing and exaggerating their reports. He was commenting on their rap, and English, and maybe implying their Japanese was difficult to follow and understand.

i'm fine with what Hamada said, i know how he and the co-MC treat anyone lols. they just love to joke around. just that haters/antis took it too bash the girls, AGAIN.

for me, their Japanese pronunciation has been quite good in songs and i guess their Japanese fans have accepted them as how they are. they also enjoy their Korean songs too even not understand a single thing.

anyway, Tiffany really did great job in her musical, her vocal is awesome =))

So can't wait for this MBC Christmas special, the girls will perform some of the xmas songs and also their hits.

Fit to the ‘black and white’ concept of their theme, the girls also took a 180 degree transformation by turning into rocker chicks for the second half of their stage.

The girls also sang their various hits such as “Genie“, “The Boys“, and a carol version of “Kissing You“. Also included in the broadcast are clips of their visit to an army training camp, surprising 500 soldiers stationed there.

Finally, the special came to a close with a performance of “After One Year” by Jessica and Onew.

They performed quite well on MSta Spesial, not lipsynching but still with loud backtrack
They pronounciation for The Boys is not that bad too

im still very amazed at the Japanese rap. it is by no means easy esp if they are not japanese. esp hyoyeon's part. that was so long >.<

Although I'm not going to listen to the song until I have my album in hand, based on all of the positive comments on youtube as well as the proportion of likes to dislikes, it sounds like it's going to be an amazing song!

Thank you so much for posting the pics. I wonder if these are the two images that they'll be using for the first press posters for the limited pressing edition of the album. Speaking of external bonuses, in the discography section of the website when you run your mouse over the limited edition version of the album, it displays pics of the two coasters in both colors. While the coasters aren't bad, I'm very happy that I decided to order the limited pressing with the two posters instead. I was originally considering ordering the limited edition because I figured that I have enough posters and they've never released coasters before but I changed my mind as I was afraid I wouldn't like them and I'd regret it later. I'm glad that I did because I would have been kicking myself if I passed up the posters for them.

Was just randomly browsing through their website. Clicked the ''Music Videos'' link and was kinda puzzled as to why they didn't use the Japanese PV for Gee & GENIE. o.O

decided I would listen to the demo of Time Machine and it's GORGEOUS. A powerful ballad, which I always wished they would do <3<3

Can't wait for my copy to arrive, but it'll probably take some time ;_;
