Thousands of fans cheered for KAT-TUN for their final night at the Tokyo Dome after three consecutive nights of concert as part of their "Chain" Tour 2012.

Last Apr 22nd, the entire Tokyo Dome was filled to it's capacity as thousands of fans cheered for KAT-TUN's final night at the Tokyo Dome for their "Chain" Tour 2012. The night was filled with pyrotechnics, moving stage, flashes of lights, and cranes. Moreover, giant "Chain" balls connected by a 400m chain that surrounds the stage perimeter carried each KAT-TUN member in a hot-air balloon fashion.

The 5-member Johnny's group sang 31 songs in total including the encore. The guys were very thankful to the enthusiastic crowd as they say their final messages. Kamenashi Kazuya said it has been two years since their last tour so they were really happy to be back at the Dome. Koki Tanaka also added that the "Hyphens" are their source of strength every time they feel unsure and worried. Moreover, the guys also added that Tokyo have always felt like a home for them, so they were happy to be there with their fans.

However, amidst all the cheer, the press can't help not to ask questions regarding former member, Jin Akanishi, during the press conference. The guys gave honest answers regarding to the press' queries.

Koki: We really didn’t know about it (when asked about Akanishi's hasty marriage)

Kamenashi: We weren’t surprised about it. His decision to study abroad back in 2006 came as the biggest shock. As ex-members, frankly speaking without any sort of contact from him, it is really difficult to give out any comments. But I suppose we are the 5 of the most unshaken people in the world.

Koki: “Oh! so, now this?” was how we simply accepted it

Kamenashi: But a celebratory thing is a celebratory thing. It is a marriage. Now that you have a partner, I hope you’ll be able to take care of her, and be even more responsible for your actions, even more so than before. This is a comment not so much as to an ex-member but more as a comment to a man.

Koki: As for us as KAT-TUN, we are looking forward as a group of five, and as we feel our fans following us, each time we organize a concert having the headlines go “KAT-TUN speaks about Akanishi etc...” or “Akanishi’s ~” is just not… what we have in mind. Nor am I saying that we find it an inconvenience. So, please be responsible for your actions and please be happy. There’s a child on the way, and your wife, it is no longer just your problem solely.

Kamenashi: I hope you’ll be able to firm up in that aspect even more so than us.

Taguchi: I believe that our job is to bring strength and courage to the audiences through our music and dance, so I hope you’ll be able to work hard on “making smiles”

They do understand that this is part of Jin's personality. Koki said: "When he left the group it was not in stages, and when he went to America they only got contacted to be informed. Not being able to express himself well, it's his personality. From here on there will be more responsibilities as an adult, a thing he's worst at. But as a person in the society he should stay by this minimum rule of being responsible since it's no longer a one-person problem." (Though I'm not sure whether they quote the right person anymore cuz from the video you can see Koki said something but in the article they say it's Kame) When they asked about how Jin's concert was stopped and how he was dropped from the drama, Kame simply said "Oh really." (Sou nanda) Koki said "As KAT-TUN we want to face forward. I feel that to comment on someone who used to be KAT-TUN is kind of wrong."

KAT-TUN's final leg of "Chain" tour will be at Sendai on Apr 28th.

KAT-TUN members not surprised about Jin Akanishi getting married

Johnny’s group KAT-TUN opened up about what they thought of their ex-member’s recent marriage during a press conference in Tokyo on April 22, reports Chunichi Sports and Nikkan Sports.

The group had been in town last weekend to perform concerts for the Tokyo leg of their national tour. The group had said they first found out about Akanishi on the news on February 9.

“I want to say congratulations. But honestly, we’ve been through a lot so this didn’t surprise me. Out of everyone, I think the five of us were the least surprised,” Kazuya Kamenashi said.

“He didn’t give any warning before he left the group two years ago, or even when he left to go overseas (in 2006). I think that’s just his personality,” Koki Tanaka said.

It has been reported Tanaka also commented on the penalties Akanishi was given by Johnny’s for his unconsulted marriage.

“Now he has someone. His responsibilities will get bigger from now on. That, I think is the thing he finds hardest to cope with. But as a working adult, he needs to at least respect the fundamental rules. It’s not just your problem anymore,” he said.

But even so, it has been reported Tanaka hoped for the best.

“KAT-TUN is staying positive, and he needs to too,” he said.

The group also touched on how hard it is to cope with getting Akanishi questions thrown at them, but they remain optimistic.

“No matter what we say or don’t say, people say we’re mean. It’s difficult,” Kamenashi said.

“Every time we have a concert, the lead is about ‘Akanishi’,” Tanaka said.

“Our job is to make people smile!” said Junnosuke Taguchi.

KAT-TUN have entertained more than 460,000 fans in 12 locations across the country. Their tour wraps up in Sendai on April 28.

Akanishi Jin’s fan club officially dissolved



For the past month ex-KAT-TUN member Akanishi Jin has been undergoing a lot of unfortunate heat for his recent marriage to actress Kuroki Meisa.

When the news of their marriage was made public Jin was forced to cancel his Japan tour as a penalty for going against his agency, after that Jin was made to drop his role in an upcoming drama. Now it’s been announced that his official fan club has been dissolved and this has fans worrying if the singer will be retiring. Akanishi’s fan club was in a joint fan club ‘YOU&J’ which also included KAT-TUN, NEWS and others. The dissolution of his fan club is because of the disbandment of ‘YOU&J’, and each artists will have individual fan clubs.

Johnny’s said that the fan club membership fee’s will be repaid to it’s members after May. The fan club announced a halt on April 19th, that all services have ended after the 28th.

On the official Johnny’s website the reason for the immediate dissolution is because Jin not only has activities in Japan but overseas as well and it’s difficult to control media information (there).

Whoa... That marriage scandal in combination at a time that YOU&J is splitting up to individual artists' fan clubs sure does not deserve Jin his own fanclub... And there... 2012 could be Jin's worst nightmare...

And I still remember about those attacks on BoA last year (I kind of know it when I was in vacation in California at that time)...

In the latest KAT-TUN interview, they were asked again what they thought of Jin's sudden marriage.
To which their leader answered that they were'nt that surprised about it, considering Jin never talked to them about his hiatus back in 2006 and that was more shocking.
This answer caused quite an uproar in the media and also among the fandom.

But was that really the case? Archived footage of a press conference tells differently. In fact, Akanishi confirms that he talked to KAT-TUN members about his trip to USA several months before and that the agency had given him greenlight about it.

Kazuya Kamenashi voted Best Actor

KAT-TUN’s Kazuya Kamenashi has been voted Best Actor in a leading role for “妖怪人間ベム (Yokai Ningen Bem)” in the 15th Nikkan Sports Drama Grand Prix, reports Nikkan Sports.

The Drama Grand Prix had opened voting to Nikkan Sports readers at the end of March, asking them to pick their best choice of actors in dramas aired between April 2011 to March 2012. It has been reported people had liked the way Kamenashi put a lot of effort into making the drama, throwing out his popstar image to play his role.

The drama series was a live action adaptation of the Yokai Bem anime series from the 1960s, and there were a lot of negative comments from fans of the original series about whether a Johnny’s pop star could become a sad monster wanting to become human but unable to.

“Those ‘it’ll be impossible’ comments actually motivated me,” Kamenashi said.

It has been reported Kamenashi and the drama’s producers had decided there was no use making their lead actor look like Bem, they had to create him. The Johnny’s talent shaved his legs and arm pits in order to make his transformed self both monstrous and delicate. Kamenashi also studied his pet dog’s angry face and tried to imitate it when transforming into his character to give the character a more wolf-like expression. He even made sure he put enough effort into shots showing just a part of his body.

“Even if it was a bit of my arm, I tried to use my entire body to act it,” he said.

Kamenashi also said it was because of the support of his co-stars he was able to get through the series. During breaks he would be practicing lines with actress Anne (who played Bera) and child actor Fuku Suzuki (who played Bero), or play games with Suzuki and exchange opinions about make up products with Anne.

“Filming was a huge challenge, but we got through it because we helped one another. We’d carry around our scripts and debate about it, it was such an analog system.”

It has been reported a lot of Kamenashi’s votes came from people in the 20s to 50s. The drama series itself recorded high ratings in north-east Japan areas devastated by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.

“I think I was very lucky to be a part of a project that focussed on human relationships, and things that make us happy that we take for granted. On top of that I get an award, I’m so happy. I hope it’s a sign that I was able to hint at those things through the angle we took.”

KAT-TUN's Kamenashi Kazuya will have his first solo movie due for released in Spring next year. The movie will be called "It's me, It's me" (Ore, Ore). It is based from Tomoyuki Hoshino's bestselling novel of the same title.

Kamenashi will play a scam artist, who will do the "ore-ore scam", by calling an older person, pretends to be a relative, and tries to con money from that person. However, as Kamenashi goes on pretending to be someone else, he found himself being pulled into the life of the person he pretends to be, while someone else tries to take his own identity from him.

The story explores the meaning of identity in our today's society, Kamenashi is expected to assume 25 different characters with no regard in age or gender.

"The highlight is Kamenashi's cosplay. In order to show the world that will become "ORE", without minding age or gender, he'll cover 25 characters, from big breast to afro, tattooes all over the body, career woman, high school student."

"It's me, It's me" will be released on Spring 2013.

Kamenashi Kazuya to challenge over 20 roles in new movie

KAT-TUN’s Kamenashi Kazuya has landed the lead role in Miki Satoshi’s upcoming film, ‘Ore Ore‘ (‘It’s Me, It’s Me‘).

Kamenashi commented, “To be able to work with director Miki Satoshi is a new challenge for me.”

Meanwhile, director Miki spoke highly of Kamenashi stating, “He’s an actor who has the ability to read and understand the script, the power of knowing what is expected of him, and the cleverness of responding to those requests.” He continued, “I thought that only Kamenashi could play this mysterious leading role.”

‘Ore Ore’ is based on a novel by Hoshino Tomoyuki, which has won the ‘5th Kenzaburo Oe Prize‘. Its story revolves around an electronics retail store worker named Hitoshi (Kamenashi), who becomes involved in a scam called “ore ore sagi”.

The “ore ore sagi” is an increasing crime in Japan, which is primarily targeted at the elderly. The scammer calls their target, pretends to be someone they know, and asks for money.

While Hitoshi goes around pretending to be other people, he finds “me” multiplying. Before long, the elimination of the other “me” begins.

For this movie, Kamenashi will challenge himself to over 20 roles including a “military enthusiast me”, “big breasted me”, and “full-body tattoo me”.

Kamenashi expressed, “It’s impossible for ‘me to increase’, but it’s not unrealistic in society. I thought the strangeness that happens when close to reality was interesting. Each ‘me’ character has their own individuality, so I want people to focus on both the similar and different aspects.”

The filming for ‘Ore Ore’ starts in mid-May, and will be released sometime in 2013. There are also plans for distribution overseas.

Actress Kuroki Meisa and idol Akanishi Jin are currently awaiting the birth of their child. It seems that reality is quite cruel to the unconventional couple, and they are said to be in heavy debt.

“In order to pay the penalty for his canceled tour, Jin borrowed more than a couple hundred million yen. And it seems only Meisa is able to pay back that debt. The only way she can do it is by going nude and doing sex scenes to pay it back with her body.” Said an entertainment management insider.

Johnny’s is known to be a very strict agency amongst the industry and it seems they’ve completely given up on Jin. First his tour was canceled, and his role in the GTO remake is also rescinded. The fees incurred for canceling his tour, which included venue cancellation fees, staff fees, and contract fees, all added up to around 450 million yen. On top of this, because he is withdrawing from GTO, there is an added “trouble-causing” fee that is around 100million yen that he also has to pay.

At this point, people are just waiting for his retirement announcement. “There is no way he can pay such a hefty fee with an expecting child on the way. Johnny Kitagawa has been lenient towards Jin despite all the troubles that he has caused the agency, but not notifying the agency of his marriage was the last straw and Johnny is extremely angry at his conduct. It was said that Johnny got so angry that he threw a spoon when he heard the news. It wouldn’t be surprising if Jin is let go from J&A once 47 Ronin is released next February…”

Meisa’s career is also in danger because of this. “Right now, she has contracts with 6 companies, but they probably won’t renew her once those contracts are up. And once Jin is chased out of J&A, no TV stations would want to use her in their shows either.”

At the end, the only thing left for her in the entertainment industry would be nude scenes and sex scenes. She’s probably have to go nude in order to help her husband pay back his debt. “She can probably still put out photobooks and star in movies because J&A has less control over those companies. The companies think that if Meisa goes nude, it’d be a big hit, so they’ll push her towards that direction. Kind of like her drama Jiu, but this time they’ll probably ask her to show more. At the very end, she’ll probably end up doing soft-core porn.”

Both are known to carefree personalities, and with this new rumour about their money troubles, people are already talking about their divorce. These was even a rumour about people offering Meisa to appear nude while pregnant. One must really wonder how long she’ll hold on.
