New single? I find those covers pretty cool though that bunny annoys the hell outta me. That's the only thing that I don't really like but those colors are awesome and Kana's expression is awesome too. Her expression in the first cover also made me think of Kuu's TABOO cover. She had a bit similar expression on one of those covers. I just don't remember which one. And no, I'm not saying Kana's copying anything. Just voicing my thoughts.

I really like the covers as she's finally doing something different. they are colourful and are made with the purpose of 'cuteness & summer" I think. but I don't like her face on the 2nd cover

If you're looking for upbeat songs, I recommend Every Boy Every Girl, Come On Yes Yes Oh Yeah!!, and MAKE UP. As far as ballads go, some of my personal favorites are Dear..., このままで, and Distance.

Now that someone mentioned the bunny it bugs me too. I really hope it isn't a mascot. I hate Koda Kuma and the fact that its in my life, I don't want this Usagi Kana.

I have to say, maybe this is shallow, but a big part of why I love certain singers is because of the looks, the overall package.

Sure, I like some singers and download their songs, but I don't fangirl over them like I do singers like Kuu and Ayu.

I'm much more interested in singers who not only make great music, but are fun to look at. I can't stand concerts with just the singer and their guitar, I want a whole performance.

I wouldnt call it shallow, it depends on people's view on music and what they expect of a certain artist. I really doubt if you hear the song on the radio and it touches you you will care as in not like the song, if singer is ugly lol.

I personally dont care at all, but I realized if singer doesnt potray the image or the message Im supporting as a person I would ignore that singer lol.

For me music/lyrics are always the top priority for the singers I adore. Their fashion/image whatever comes after that. It has always been that way. If I only listened artists for their looks, I would ignore Utada Hikaru for example completely but I don't because I prioritize music and lyrics more than her fashion style. Same goes for Ayu, Kuu, Kana and bunch of other singers from Asia and western countries.

And what's with the hostility about "forcing" yourself to listen to Kana. I think it's just a matter of getting used to a new voice. I have been trying hard to find new Japanese music acts I enjoy and at first I really don't like anyone because it is something new, it is a voice you are not used to listening to, but over time you become accustomed to it. It took me a few tries to finally get into Kana and her music.

True. I found a song like that the other day, but when I looked the singer up I was like "Oh...". So, I will probably look out for new stuff by her, since I will hopefully like it. That being said, I'm not going to hound them the way I do with Kuu, who I also wanna see stuff like magazine shoots from. The overall package determines how actively I seek out stuff from them and what all I buy and watch. The move stuff I like and am interested in by a singer the more excited I become over them, since there is so much to stimulate me.

The same goes for a singer who makes okay music, but I can't stand how annoying they are. I only download songs, but I don't tell people or watch stuff like music videos by them. I'm so turned off by their personality I just want that song or two that I like, and avoid everything else about that singer.

I remember when I first heard a few songs by Ayu, I looked her up and found an older picture of her and I thought "oh not what I expected..." and I continued to listen to her music and I decided to look her up again thinking "she HAS to be hotter than that!" and then I hit the jackpot. Lmfao.

RayJason, I had a crush on 'Tatoe Donna Ni..' last year, maybe you should try it out, if you liked 'Dear...' ? (which is my favorite with 'if' ).
And to be honest, I don't think her albums are that good overall, appart from a few songs, most album tracks are quite random and just fillers. But if I had to pick one, I would probably go with Thank you, Love. As for upbeat stuff, I would go for 'Distance', 'MAYBE', 'WRONG' 'Best Friend' & the two b-sides of 'if'

well it's not so silly, i mean i fell in love with someone's looks, then I was ok lets see what they can do. And i found out that the person was in a boyband...well I couldn't listen to him at all because he just had no voice lol but then i found the acting which was amazing. It's like you try to find an other reason, deeper one to like the person xD Plus I gotta say I checked Namie because of how drop dead gorgeous she is, and i almost died of depression that i loved her voice so much, but her music style was a total "OMG NONONO" to me...sad times lol

as for Kana, i gotta say i don't think i could ever listen to something like her. I did gave her a chance. I've gotta say some of her videos and coverart are very nicelly done in my oppinion, but in my eyes nothing secial, just an other pop-girl in japanese music world *shrugs*

GO FOR IT didn't really impress me as a preview but I won't judge it that much now because I haven't heard the full version yet. And from what I've learned about Kana's singles, she usually has at least one wow song on her singles. I'd like to hear something like Every Boy Every Girl and ONLY ONE. Where should I begin,

The beginning of the song is so perfect! The piano and the strings and then the part where she softly hums, A+ A+ A+ A++++! Then she continues singing, and I really love her voice even more from here on. The instrumentals really compliment her voice . Though I find the chorus too long (in the first chorus, it should have ended with just one verse). I love how the drums get changed when she sings again. Then the last chorus OMG love! Haha, I find it so amazing that she can go that high without sounding strained at all. I still get surprised when she sings "Te o tsunaide arukemasu you ni" and the pitch changes! Then I know bleep is about to go down and BAAAM dramatic high voice! (I can't help but feel a little bit sad, and uplifted at the same time after hearing this song in full)

And in general I love the lyrics and the meaning. The covers are great too (they're different... I mean with the blank white space on the bottom) + she looks really amazing on it, and it kinda gives a cold feeling that the song is supposed to deliver.

Also a big thanks to Misa and the respective persons who have been the only persons translating news regarding Kana for us.
