Well, you remember the 'circus' aspect of that title too, right? Plus she had singles in the way so it's not like that album was going to be 100% rock.

Well, when u title ur album "Rock n Roll Circus", you put it under the impression it will be a mix between rock and circus, not half/half... And she herself said on a interview at the time that she soul is so filled with rock, everything she sings turns into rock, or something like that.

Also, japanese are less strict about mixing musical genres than we are on the west... If she enters the stage with a rock-chic attitude, as she almost always does, she can get way singing almost anything from her repertoire.

Still, I'm not expecting obscure tracks... maybe we will have one or two surprise tracks, but I bet most of it will be hits + stuff she is promoting this year...

In fact, the music videos filmed in the UK are cold, and seem to possess a deep, meaningful worldview. The album title brings all the tracks to a higher level, and links them to AYU.

“Traditional Japanese, ethnic, European… With all these different sounds mixed together, it’s like a circus. And when I sing, they become rock. Rock is a very wide genre, and can include lots of different types of songs, but when I sing, it becomes rock. For example, even if I dress up in a girly manner like today and sing a ballad, rock will still be rock. And because rock exists in my soul, it will be reflected in whatever I do. The new album’s title “Rock’n'Roll Circus” reflects something interesting, scary, sad, weird, and a whole bunch of others mixed together. And that is what I think Rock&Roll is about.”

I thought she explained it pretty well. "Weird and a whole bunch of other things mixed together" especially for the tracks that may not fit under the 'rock' title.

For most of her tracks that are not 'super sweet' or a 'soft ballad', they do kind of end up becoming rockish in a way. Would be very interesting to hear a rockish version of Sunrise though. (She needs to perform Ladies Night ~another night~ already.)
