I'm sure she could, but it's her choice (or someone's choice) to do arena touyrs

I heard that dome tours are a pain...

Why not?
I think the fans would support her...
But the arena tours are probably cheaper for her.

Wasn't it during Dome Tour that her hearing problem became worse because of the acoustics? :S I don't see why she'd want to do that again

Not a good idea - domes reserved for bigger-name musicians (such as Arashi, AKB48), and yes, that hearing problem...

Sure she could. As successfully as in 2001? I guess not. Like Bigtop said, she's not at the top of Japan anymore, the place's taken by younger artists/bands.

What does her hearing having to do with anything? Have you seen the way she's been fighting? How strong she is? If anyone could do this tour injured, it'd be Ayu. And might I add it wouldn't be the first time.

She is a fighter, sure, but if doing it has a chance of damaging her hearing further and she does it anyway cuz she is "oh, so awesome", I would change "fighter" to "stupid".

Ayumi has stated before that she doesn't like singing to gigantic audiences if I recall correctly. That would explain her doing 5-25k venues instead of 30-50k ones. Her tours have attendances over 400k, she could easily have a few Dome dates if she wanted.

As much as I wish she could do another Dome Tour, I also think that she doesn't want to do that because of the left ear issue that happened in 2001. Maybe she's also thinking that if she did it, her right ear would be in danger. That's one of the reasons why I personally wouldn't do dome concerts if I was in her place.

^ I always thought her, in 2001, performing with her leg hurt (like seen in "Light and Shadow") was not only stupid, but selfish. Like she was pushing herself to prove a point. But now, I don't know anymore. This may sound mean but if I was hurt, it still wouldn't stop me from living my dream the fullest, if you understand my point. I guess what I'm trying to say is... if she ever decides to do it, I trust her instinct and the fact that she'd accept the possible consequenses.

But I've wondered something for a while now... Do you guys think she would have acted the same way after injuring her leg in 2001 Dome tour? Just saying "sure I can run, the show must go on" or would she have taken a break, stayed at the hospital, apologised to her fans? I once remember her hurting her arm and not performing at the end of the year in some avex-function (if I remember correct, she was suppose to performe "Rule").

I really like the idea of a Dome tour, simply b/c she already did it once. Would be nice to see the outcome now, but of course I care about her health more than a DVD on my shelf.

^Domes are huge places to have concerts, so the acoustics were higher than she was used to I believe and thus it hurt her hearing even more.

I wouldn't mind if she pre-recorded vocals and lipsynced to that tbh.

I'm sure she still can have a sold-out concert at Tokyo Dome. I'll be super-happy if she does it on her 15th anniversary!

Tokyo Dome is knew for not has a good acoustic because at the root Tokyo dome is not adapted for concerts. I read this in an interview when Nana Mizuki has performed in tokyo dme last year .

I think that if she decided to go on a hiatus or retire, she would be able to have a final concert at the tokyo dome or something

It would be pretty cool!

I admit I don't know how much of Ayu performing injured was Ayu, and how much of it was Avex, considering Japan's working laws...

She can easily make a Dome tour, but there's lot of hard work because it hard to entertain all the audiences and can't do a lot. (It's like if you go on Dome tour you can play only 5 places 5 times, but for Arena tour you can make like 50-75 times) it's about money for Avex.
