Wasnt Namie debut in Tokyo or something? And wasn't she ever said she know Tokyo better than Okinawa? Sometimes I wonder why she wanted to do it in Okinawa

^I think Okinawa just holds a lot of special memories for her. She was born and raised there and held her 15th anniversary (or was it the 14th?) there, so I'm sure it was just a sentimental place for her.

I think it's unfortunate that it was cancelled, but like so many others, I wished they would have moved it to an indoor location.

^ I don't know for sure, but I would imagine that Okinawa does not have a large indoor venue.

This really sucks though because I was hoping that we would be getting two completely different shows from her this year. Now probably the Dome tour will become a mishmash of what was supposed to happen in Okinawa and whatever they already have planned for the Dome tour.

Gosh, If Okinawa was your motherland would u come back to it on ur speacial day??? It hold every little special thing in a person's memory dun u think?

Back then in 2006 she also came back to Okinawa and wrote a short message to her mother at the end of the LIVESTYLE2006 pamphlet.
The message was:

How I wish from the bottom of my heart,that we could have sharedthis 15th anniversary with you by my side,wished that you could have witnessed this memorable performance and experienced the moment together.I will sing and hope that my songs will reach you.

They didn't move to any indoor venue because Okinawa venue was not big enough for 27,000 people, and also the stage design and everything else related to concert would not fit.
I'm really sad it was canceled due to typhoon, but the decision was reasonable.

to me, it's just damn plain bad luck. If the typhoon arrived a few days earlier or later, none of this will happen! Damn unlucky it hits exactly on sat and sun.....

Maybe it's just me being optimistic but I feel that Namie loves and respects her fans and will try to find a way to make it up to them. It maybe something in the dome tour or it maybe something else but I just feel confident that she will make it up to us.
