Also, i dont think many people would sing "get up get up" they'd sing "geddup geddup" the t would become a soft d sound. Over annunciating the t would sound strange.

I think the t part is fine and most people are probably hearing the "p" a bit differently from how it'd normally be sung. So instead of geddup, geddup, we have "gedda, gedda" from Ayu.
