When you get the total population of any music market, the best selling album of that country always sold little compared to the total population.^^

not everyone in a country buys music...
you also have to think of the demographics of a country. the age range...
big buyers of music are teens-40 something...
7 million is a HUGE number compared to the actual buying pool.

thats not really true for norway platium is 30k for albums and 15k for gold. For singles its 5k and 10k . including downloads. And it's one of the countries where people spend most on music per person on average...

The sales are really good for a classical album, just look at 2AM (a kpop group) sales, this is their debut album and they can't sell more than ayu

In the albums chart, singer Hamasaki Ayumi has reached the no.1 spot with her classical album in 7 years and 9 months, "A Classical." It has been 12 years and 4 months for a classical album, "image" (August 2009) to top the chart. The last time Hamasaki has topped Oricon for single or album was with the mini-album, "FIVE" (August 2011), a year and 4 months ago. Her previous classical album, "MY STORY Classical" (March 2005) peaked at no.4. This is her 19th no.1 album, surpassing Matsuda Seiko (who she previously tied with 18) at 2nd place, behind Matsutoya Yumi with 22 no.1 albums.

well you should see this. Japan has $32.3 value per person compared to US only $11.7. China and India have over 1 billion population and how many copies sold for their best selling album in those countries? not even 10 million copies i believe

From 2010, Japan is the largest music market in the world and surpassing USA. Japan has the largest total retail value while USA remains the largest total sales unit.
Japan also have the highest value purchase power per person
