Yeap, pretty much this. "Bigger", "stronger", "thickier" are different from fat, even more considering the word "fat" has a very negative conotation on our society and just on a feel expecific contexts "she looks fat" doesn't imply "she should look thinner".

Sorry about the rant if it weren't what you guys meant, but it's hard for me to read it on another way when sometimes people actually did complain she was too fat.. And to make sure nobody will missunderstand me: this is not about her, it's about the body type we pressure women to have.

Being a fat person myself, I think Ayu looks beautiful and healthier than ever in that pic. When a woman weighing less than 50kg is called fat, I have to shake my head.

Men have this pressure too. Women are considered acceptable just by eating less and diet alone. Men must be particular about eats AND work extremely hard to achieve the desired body type! It is a brutal lifestyle and I'm not saying I don't enjoy it to an extent, but I eat the exact same thing every day and build my entire life around this routine and I still am not where I would like to be considering all I have done to try and achieve what seems unachievable.

There's no way to compare how much pressure a woman and a man suffer to have a certain body tipe. Just watch any family centered sitcom on television and you will most likely see a lot of mid-aged fat men married to thin not-mid-aged-playing-mid-aged women.

Also, balanced diet + work out tends to be FAR healthier than starving to fit this or that size.

I personally think it's a (stupid) problem if you are a celebrity, but in real life nobody really cares. At least in experience, attitude does a lot more than a thin body: I always see shy girls (of every weight and shape) being "alone" a lot more than bold and easy-going personalities (again, of every type) and I think it's just natural. It's since early high school that I don't see people having a real problem with weight and dieting (and, let's be real, us girls discuss it all the time, but we're almost never serious about it, lol!).
On the contrary, if you are famous (and especially if you are a female singer) there's a lot of fuss about your body (and I always think about Piece of Me by Britney, lafmao, but also about Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera, all those photos in internet, and people talking about it day by day, judging). But that's what you signed for when you entered show business, so you have to deal with bull****, it's part of the package.
And, just to make an example, Zeke: I don't like men too hefty, and almost all of my female friends don't too!

Women may play into the pressure more than men, because some men just don't give a ****, but at the end of the day, the male physique is always something that is to be desired and attained, and it's a daunting task trying to acquire such an image. Men just don't talk about the pressure as much as women do. But especially in today's age, it seems as if half-naked hard-bodied bulky men are EVERYWHERE, and women not so much. With all the strong male characters in movies and the idols that women and girls put on a pedestal, how can you deny it?

As someone who is close friend with a girl who suffers from anorexia and bulimia, I need to say things are not as simple for everyone as it may be on your circle of friends.

Zeke seens to believe women just suffer more with beauty standarts because they are weaker... Oh boy...
And this is my last post on the subject.

That isn't what I was insinuating, but it does anger me when so much pressure is put on men to be able to handle so much, and therefore are seen as weak when we admit things get to us or the fact that we need to maintain a certain image can leave us feeling inadequate. I'm not saying women who are affected aren't just in their feelings, but to come out and say "Well you don't have it as bad as women do" turns it into some sort of contest. Why even go there? It's almost like be-littling the feelings of men who do feel this way, making their case or the very real emotions they have regarding this subject null and void. Men have to uphold a certain image just as women do. The difference is men aren't criticized by other men very often, where as heavier women are seen as unsightly by both genders.

I see your point. I was thinking some times ago about when a woman sings about how bad boys are, then it's awesome, but for a boy to sing about the evil of women is unthinkable, lol. So, I get the prejudice, and how hard is to make people see it.
And about the anorexia and bulimia, those are serious problems, and I wasn't absolutely talking about that. We're talking about social concepts, not the extreme consequences of it, and, as someone whose been best friend with a girl with heavy eating disorder in both senses, I would never dream of taking the subject easily. High school is a bitch. But I'm happy to say that in general people grow up, and they're perfectly fine with not being with a model. Girls and boys. And if you even are with people who actually care about stupid stuff like that, I'm sorry, but you're hanging around with the wrong people.
And here ends my massive off topic too.

Fact is in all the magazines i have the cms that are around i cannot recall seeing a half naked man...you know why? because you can sell products with women in cms for both genders while with men? well...that's a tricky thing, probably only movies.....so woman are more around, photoshopped to death and what not basicly giving a "beauty standart". Also there IS a fair percentage of males who suffer from eating dissorders just like females do.
In fact it is common, and it does happen. We are all humans. It's just not talked about as much as with females. And i think it's a bad idea not to, cuz certain things DO get into guys' minds too and affect them just as bad as girls. It should get more awarness so those who still keep silent would not feel like it's a weak thing they are giving into that and finally get help.

One thing that gets me is also how female celebs are ALWAYS being thrown in to mags for loosing weight gaining weight, now i never saw someone to do that with male celebs...hmm Maybe just with Kevin >_O

I dunnno i don't get society...
and we're off topic now -_-"

fragile

and for the hair... i like everything she did with her hair the past years...
but ayu, please never cut you hair this evolution-like-short-cut...
i didn't like it...
the best ''hairtimes'' for me: 2005 (long black hair), 2006 (Secret hair), 2009 (the whole year), 2012 (from the point it was the longer hair), 2013...

I love her hair in the Memorial Address, MY STORY and (miss)understood eras.

It just looks so glossy throughout those eras, like Ayu had five hairstylists on her at all times. XD

I love how I wrote a motivation message and people replied the message in essay form to defend their points.
