I think back then her image would change (drastically or over time) but it would stay for a god while, so you could kind of pinpoint that exact era.
PQ would've felt better if she had the pink in the videos, or her manner of dress changed, etc.
The blonde hair is her trademark, but so played out. I liked ABL''s chocolaty long hair

was watching randomly her tv performances last night, aaahh what a great era of Jewel/Heaven <3 and how I miss seeing Ayu at the Happy Xmas show, sad that they ended the program >.<

now,listening to Secret, will we ever get to see this live performance again? AT07 is epic and emotional!

She's been lacking in transformations lately, but I suppose it's because of the lack of singles and releasing only once or twice a year compared to 4-5 times.

Her schedule now is like..

- release album
- tour
- summer festivals
- go to LA/other international destination
- CDL

repeat

Today I've watched a lot of ayu's PVs and OMG...I've almost forgot how beautiful and meaningful her videos are. I love the strange and random noises that appear in some of her pvs such as Moments (the laugh of the children), Walking Proud (the voice of the child and some noisy effects),STEP you etc..
I love her old pvs but also the new ones such as Sweet Scar (even if for many may seem boring..),Missing, Song 4 You etc..

You should probably just not listen to it much until release. It might help. In the meantime, I'm pretty sure this is the most I've listened to a preview ever... I'm closing in on probably 4,000 listens...

I don't need ballads specifically, I just want her to produce something powerful and serious. Songs lately sure are nice, but I can't feel anything from them.

Sometimes I wonder if Ayu is still herself while writing the lyrics.

It's more like "she has achieved everything she wants and now she's a living legend" → produces happier songs.

I think it's because she's in a different head space than she was earlier on in her career.

You could say lyrically, things started to change around post-MY STORY, I think.

I saw this on Christophe twitter, finally can hear his voice and also his wife is in the show too, the dutchess' voice lol, not bad, coz i hate seeing her creepy smile on pics haha

maybe he can feature ayu in his show too

This is all speculation but what if she really is happy? I noticed a lot of people tend to label upbeat and glitzy lyrics (Probably not a word but you know what I mean, right?) as untrue and for show. Probably because they just can't relate to it which I think you admit to. I believe she is always honest when writing songs. Her emotions fluctuate, as with any human who lives a rather unstable life. She's finding love and losing it again.

most interviews where she refers to herself she pretty much states she's alot more comfortable in herself and at peace. She was a young adult then and is a mature woman now.

this fandom is just never satisfied lol.
