Does it sound like castanets as well? Because that's the only r-sounding noise I can hear in vogue, but it runs through the whole song, even during the verses (though the music is kinda louder than castanets there, so maybe that's why they're less noticeable there)

maybe, only if the castanets were going at a constant, consistent rate. But it definitely stops when I said it does. It's not on during the verses.

Okay no. I hear your castanets. It's definitely not that. It's also, mainly noticeable in that first minute or so after :03. But when the chorus is going, it's hard to hear cause it just sounds like noise.

Sorry, I don't hear this Maybe I'll hear that later. I don't listen to this song that much and I usually start hearing more instruments and random noises when I listen to songs more often.
