I was never fan of "casual" Ayu photos. I liked when she was dressed in sweat-pants without make-up on a walk with her dogs, but "ayu-in-sheets-with-tons-of-make-up-to-look-natural-and-cute" never was my thing, it always come out INDENTICAL (i can't remember which photos was from AYU book or from LOVE again booklet?????) and she always looked overphotoshoped anyways. So I prefer photoshoped but FIERCE <3

she have perfect model body and she looks GREAT in (even uncomfortable) modeling poses <3

I like "natural" Ayu, i mean after all the blow-up doll lips and giantic thick fake eyelashes, it was rather refreshing to get her going all "herself", BUT, i really think she should in her age step up a bit and become a fierce woman in high fashion scene that she usually is on stage rather than a girl next door in the goddarn gyaru mags. I was craving for things like that Bazzar photoshoot for ages, and i was soooooo happy when we got those, so i hope there's more to come!!

I think she needs a happy medium. Being accessible was what got her popular in the first place, but being an accessible GODDESS was what made her a legend. Her outfits weren't incredibly normal & basic, nor were they high fashion no one could ever really wear without being a celebrity. They were interesting & unique things you could buy or make yourself. She was cosplayable back in the day.

Then between 2006 and 2008 or so she was getting too inaccessible (too "goddess"), with high fashion no one could ever imitate or buy affordable knock-offs of. Then she went WAY too natural, posing with beige everything, in sheets, in her underwear, looking like she's in her PJs all the time.

This booklet has her more in "costume" type fashions overall, which is very cool, and the cover has an outfit you could easily find something similar to in a department store if you like that style, even though it's not the same thing. This is overall a step in the right direction.

But it still doesn't seem to have a point. Which I miss. I want her booklets to have a point. And this one clearly COULD have had a point, but it doesn't seem to - That photo of her standing in the red outfit in front of the brick wall REALLY should have been one of the covers. The whole album marketing should have centered around THAT LOOK. That's an urban phoenix, rising from the ashes of low sales to blow our frickin' minds with an amazing comeback! Why is THAT not THE LOOK for this album!?

More and more billboards!! We can't complain about Colours having any promo after all. Looks like her face is everywhere downtown.

I'm not saying I don't like ayu done-up and glamorous. But I prefer diva shoots from 10th anniversary and those fancy gowns over some high-fashion-esque shit. The stuff she's wearing in these photos are just goofy. This whole release seems so much of a copycat to other big-name artists and their tactics.

10th anniversary ayu looking glam as fuck and like the queen of beautification is all I need.

My least favorite Ayu style ever, bar none. Too inaccessible, plus i'm not really "into" fashion so to me one sparkly dress looks like a hundred others. To me ayu was just dressing like a generic princess, it didn't feel unique to her at all.

Even if 100 singers use costume-type outfits, to me, those would all look different unless they were literally wearing the exact same thing... but I guess that's kinda like how if you're into a music genre like trance (or classical or rap or country or whatever), different songs sound different, but if you're not into it, it all sounds the same.

I'm not into fashion either, but Ayu herself always looked gorgeous in those shoots. For example, the gown she wore during her performance of Microphone at AT10 as well as how her makeup and hair was styled (this is not 10th Anni, but similar). That was epic and she looked unbelievably gorgeous. I could care less what she is wearing - her face is the real draw for me.

I think for us, who are far from her and used to the habitual, it is harder to face changes, but she has been very nice to us, especially with the Japanese fans, to make such changes always gradually and not very sharp. It's understandable that she's looking for new things at this stage of her life. Ayu passed her 30s, she must be running away from monotony and sameness in her life. Recycling everytime things she did in a 15-year career must be pretty boring. We should thank her for trying new things within her music and not going into hiatus.
By the way, I love her old gowns but I also love her new diva-ish style I will always support her decisions

Got my copy too! Just finished watching the Making-ofs. I shall comment in the spoilers. And seems like her crew became the directors?

Spoiler:

XOXO Making Of: She really really looks happy in this and LOL the catfight scene was kinda hilarious BTS. I think she was just really having her fun with this PV. I did enjoy the concept but yea, the execution was kinda weird. She's also in-charge for that Lico-turned-embarassed scene LOL.

Angel Making Of: After watching this, I could see really see Ayu putting work in this. It wasn't possible for a harness on her so they are to strap on that silk. I think she was really professional throughout this. and actually, then I realized the editing was really good for the PV too. even though the ending effects were abit LOL

Lelio Making Of: nothing much here. It's a giant green screen. (and now that I watched the PV...lol oops..it does look realllllly dated haha)
