Jolin is now L'Oréal Paris' brand ambassador in Taiwan!
Aside from that, she came back last week from a holiday in Hawaii, and she's working on the Tour right now. http://www.jolinjenerationgallery.co....php?album=758

^ But she's pronounced it differently herself lol I remember an interview where she said "Hi my name's Jolin Tsai..." and totally pronounced it like the female translator did at the beginning
EDIT: OK, the only source I can find that even gives a pronunciation guide for her name is this, which lists it as AyuHamasaki01 and I have been saying it. Apparently, it's actually a boy name LMAO Last edited by Tom Punks; 6th March 2015 at 05:21 PM. |

EDIT: unless you mean in the interview that you were referring to lol Her boyfriend also has a girl's name (unless Vivian is also a boy's name in English-speaking countries I don't know)... They're a match made in heaven XD But if you all want to know how to pronounce her name for her particular case just listen to Dr Jolin or CFs. In events they also yell a lot "Jolene Cai Yi Lin" when she comes on stage, and Jolin pronounce it this way herself. I guess that she pronounced it very differently once because she doesn't introduce herself with her English name that often?

In both the interview I'm referring to with Jolin herself, and by the second translator in the link AyuHamasaki01 posted, it was pronounced "Jo-lynn" not "Jo-leen..."
Which is so weird, because she totally says it as "leen" in Dr. Jolin lmao... idk, I've heard it both ways at this point, I'm gonna go with "lynn" since she's said it in an interview that way and I think it sounds ugly the other way around lmao. (18 or so seconds in) |

The way she said it here sounded like "Jolene" to me. But I have to say that "lynn" and "leen" honestly sound very similar to my ears, I guess that's why I'm not hearing much of a difference >_< Like I said in my previous post, for the female translator I heard "Jolene" and not "Jolynn" for instance lol

^ I heard the actual woman say "Jolene" but then the translator sounded like "Jolynn" XD
I agree, they can sound pretty similar and hard to tell apart! Like the first time I heard the guy translator say "Jolene" and then I replayed it and started hearing "Jolynn"... lmao |

So...we're going with "Jolynn" then?

^ I think it's technically supposed to be Jolene in her case, but I'm going with Jolynn because she's said it once and I need to cling to that lmao
I wonder if it has something to do with Chinese? Does that vowel sound not exist in Chinese, hence why they tend to say "lene" instead of "lynn"? |

When they say her name, it always sounds like Join Tsai to me.
I call her Joleen. |

I like "Jolynn" because it sounds more... playful idk. "Jolene" sounds so supe serious and reminds me of Dolly Parton lol
