Overall:
I really like this album. It's by far my favourite since Love songs and love songs is one of my favourites.
What's surprising about many of the songs though to me at least, is that the arrangements and especially the instrumentation aren't always that interesting and sometimes sound a bit, well let's just call it dated or "classic combinations" for lack of a better word, so it's really ayu's performance that turns a few of the songs into great pieces. Overall the albums works as a singles piece too which helps.

The compositions have many familiar elements to them, especially Komuro's, but that was evident from the previews. I don't mind that much, because the songs are in my opinion better than the songs they remind me of. And I'm amazed that such extremely long songs for pop songseven by jpop standards don't make me losing attention along the way.

Don't think I've cried to an Ayu song since forever. Today, I was listening to 'Story', then all of a sudden, tears just started to fall... lol. I didn't even read the lyrics, but the song made me thought of things and the tears just came naturally, lol. I am super please with this release, but I am live with "WARNING". 'WARNING' & "The GIFT" are my least favorite from the album.

So I read the lyrics in full and in order and I kinda got this picture:

There's definitely two Ayus. The product and the person. I don't know much about the product but whatever. The point is that the person (hereafter new ayu) yearns for the product (old ayu). The big giveaways are the music which sound like music from early parts of her career. That's the initial basis and also why I don't think she's talking about nagase. She's definitely not talking about her ex husband, current husband or Maro. I haven't formulated a real analysis yet but I wrote this about A Bell "No lyrics but it's a single bell. Not two or more. Just one. By itself. The bell rings by itself, it beats its own drum. Ayu beats her own drum. She's in this by herself, she's alone. But judging by how happy the music seems to sounds she's not unhappy."
She initially acknowledges through nonverbal communication that she is alone. But does she really like this or not? In general the lyrics made it sound like she was yearning for her past self. Already in warning she's acknowledging that she doesn't want to become her old self. Hanging around someone makes you become more like them. In no future she's questioning why they met. The next few songs ayu is like "ok I want you and I wanna do something so that you'll be mine, but it feels like you're slipping away and I feel selfish for wanting you back." In out of control ayu is giving hypocritical lyrics and basically being crazy about wanting herself back. In story it seems like she's acknowledging that they can't be together anymore and is like 'we betta reincarnate and be together again.' Now for the gift, which I think is ayu who's finally lost it. She's obsessed with herself and wants to marry herself. The whole song isn't factual though. It never really happened. She acknowledges this in the show must go on. She can't be with her old self but she still has to keep on living. She knows she's gonna be alone. But even in this song she still yearns for her old self just a lil bit. Walk acknowledges her loneliness even more. It feels like she's in touch with her old self but they're not together as ayu wants it (she wants to get married to her). However I think the general picture with A Bell and Warning being first and even Movin On Without You, ayu is getting out of her storytelling and saying that she's gonna be alone. No more product ayu. From now on she's a person.

So I really think she's singing to herself and not about a lover. I mean she does love herself. She just wants to become her old self again but she knows it isn't happening. that OR she is trying to tell the fans that she won't become her old self back in her heyday. Warning stands out for a reason!!! It's the most blunt song. She's like don't expect the stuff I did before. Then the rest of the songs 3-11 are her own love letter to herself STAGING the situation to the fans. She's trying to show us in a somewhat dramatic love story that she isn't gonna reunite with her old self. Essentially she's gonna do her own thing from now on, whatever that may be. The music on this album sounds like her old stuff and it isn't reinventing anything or being progressive since she's copying that old sound. While she's giving fans nostalgia she's telling them it won't happen anymore. She's being ironic. Or something like that.

I hope this made sense even though it was a very general analysis.

This album brings me back to Ayu again. (actually, since Zutto...) I respect her changes last year, but her original genre is what I prefer. I do really wish this album to be successful. It's truly a masterpiece in years.

I don't know why, but 'Anything for You' sounds exactly like 'Walk' and 'The Show Must Go On' sounds exactly like 'snowy kiss'... (same thing goes to 'Free & Easy' and 'M')

Well with anything for you I think she's doing whatever it takes to get her old self back. Zutto, I'm not sure what the PV symbolism is. I actually haven't watched it in full. And about last minute's PV, I think you're right. Apparently there's a slightly different ending where you see more of black dress ayu. Maybe she's trying to give fans a final glimpse before she fades away into the black. Maybe that's why the PV is so dark and simple. Ayu's saying that her old persona is gonna go away and it's not like its something that's difficult. Ayu seems to get over not being able to have her old self a bit easily on the album. I mean sure she may have lost it near the end but she reconciles and just feels better. She seems like the kind of person with the strength to carry on.

you know the gift could be pretty much interpreted as a marriage to the future, considering that she used JJ Lin in the video and the fact that she said herself she wants to expand to asian market more than she did before. I mean this is a long shot but it would make sense somewhat. I mean it does sound ridiculous but lol

as for last minute the commercial ayu and the person ayu...that would make sense too, because she said back then in the days that she felt like the ayu person became the product. The fact that inn the end the black one disappears kind of would make sense that she is a person and not a product anymore.
