What helped me fall in love with her back when i discovered her was her lyrics and how i would relate to them. It was the first time i found someone i felt was telling my lifestory in her lyrics ♥ (even though i was super young), and i do relate to a loooooot of them and know their entire translation.

At that time, the first ayu song that made cry was rainy day because the lyrics told a story that happened to me, it was like six years ago, once in middle school when i was in a bad time of my life with suicidal thoughts i once stood alone under the pouring rain whilst laughing groups of friends would walk by me without even acknowledging my existence. At the end of the song ayu talks about a person joining her and them starting a journey together while the rain starts to stop, to me Ayu was this person

Ayu has a lot of lyrics that resonate with me and that I tend to remember. One of my favorites is SURREAL as a whole but especially this passage since I think what she said here is so true:

"Choosing only things which we like
Does not make us irresponsible
If we are unable to find things which we like
There is no need to take responsibility
We hold the possibility of shouldering the burden of resolution"

I also think TO BE's lyrics are really heartfelt which is why I like them. There are many more such as fated, Together when..., M, HANABI but I do like the ones from SURREAL the best. They are also the ones I remember most often.

I can relate to Naturally's entire lyrics, but especially this part:

Haha, I haven't posted in this forum for a long time but I had to answer this one.

Hanabi. That entire song... man, every time I listen to it, every time it's performed, I know every word, every intake of breath. I'm in love with the song and it's all because of this stanza

'The reason there isn’t a day
When I remember you
Is because I’ve never forgotten you'

That line slayed me and it still does to this day. It will always be my favorite Ayumi Hamasaki song and it resonates with me deeply. Of course, there are more than several others. (Still Alone, Guilty, Dearest, Beloved, Love Song, Life, Moon for instance) but whenever it comes to the question of lyrics and remembering forever: it's Hanabi. Always Hanabi. The day that I forget those lyrics are the day I'll go to the doctor to get checked for dementia
