Summer Diary sounds like the upbeat child of Out of Control and Story (moreso Story) while Step By Step sounds like No Future x TSMGO. Isn't each song composed by the same people? Yukumi and Komuro, with most being arranged by fan favourite Nakano? (I know TSMGO and OOC aren't). It also doesn't help that the hue of the videos for SD/SBS is quite similar to the hue of A ONE's era. Kind of like this light colouring, dim and cold lighting. SD is blue and SBS has this cold and painful purple feeling, all cold colours, and A ONE is full of cold colours. WARNING is blue (a bit darker), The gift is blue, ayu's FROZEN BLUE in Zutto, the single cover is blue, the album covers are blue , and the lyric booklet is blue (by blue I mean blue tinged/blue hue). The imagery from those videos evokes the imagery of A ONE. So the music looks AND sounds similar.

Lol what? Summer Diary does not have the feel of Out of Control. And not Story either. Summer Diary is actually pretty weird. Whenever it starts I feel like I'm about to hear something from ayu 10 years ago. Also her voice in it at times makes it sound like an older ayu. It also doesn't sound wintery like Story.

Now Step by Step, sure. Not No Future though. But TSMGO, obviously. Step by Step is the only thing reminiscent of A One and considering how we got it so close to the release of A One that doesn't surprise me. That song will probably be my main skip track for this release.

I guess if you think about songs being composed by the same people you can try yo make them seem like they're very similar in your head. But IMO, they're not. Summer Diary's PV also has a distinctly warmer feel that those from A One.

She recorded Step by Step while A ONE wasn't even out so yes, it does feel like an A ONE leftover and it's not surprising at all. I can't tell anything about Summer Diary because i haven't listened to the song though.
Almost two weeks left until the leak (we always get the leak on saturday before the release) so excited! I wonder when she'll reveal the tracklist.

lol that's exactly how i feel, though, for me the intro always makes me think of No Way To Say. But then it blooms into this abnormal warmth and definitely has a Blue Bird feeling. It definitely feels like something that could have been released years back. It's beautiful though. I love all the different sounds the instrumental has. It's like, pure magic!
