^The dated feel is what I love about Concentration 20! The _genic packaging kinda reminds me of Concentration 20.

Leavin' For Las Vegas came on my mp3 player the other week. I love the classic R&B sound it has!

For me the first half of Genius 2000 is excellent but it turns into a bit of a slog after the midway point.

Concentration 20 is a masterpiece and is by far my favourite Namie album as well as my favourite Jpop album. The nostalgia I get from listening to it <3 *sigh * I miss the 90s. (except the fashion. I don't miss 90s fashion lol)

I also recently listened to LOOKING FOR YOU and I'm surprised how more fluent in english she sounds here than the entire _genic album

I got into Namie with PLAY and just can't bring myself to listen to her older works pre-Queen of Hip-Pop. The only one I listened to all the way through was SWEET 19 BLUES (Don't wanna cry is my JAM!) and break the rules (HimAWArI <3). I'll give Concentration 20 and GENIUS 2000 a listen sometime.

I don't want to hype it up so much that your expectations won't met, but I truly believe Concentration 20 is pure perfection. It's one of the best albums of the 90s, I think.

I live for whisper. I sound like a broken record but THAT sing should have had a music video. Thank god she performed it live again I lost my sh** when I saw it but no one else in the crowd did. So alot of fans really don't know the greatness that is pre hip pop

Agreed! Though it took a good few years before the album as a whole clicked with me (as opposed to a handful of songs). It's definitely in my Top 5 Namie albums- maybe even No 1!

Now I need to listen to Concentration 20! I know I've said it before but I would love it if she released a 20th Anniversary edition!

Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh. My. Gawd. I've never thought of that. Can we make her do that? Is there a way? Do we have to sell a plate? Sorry. I meant celebrate? Teach her how to be a girl? But seriously, all of those songs resung. Remastered. It'd give a chance for her newer/pre hip pop fans to realize that she was pretty much a badass since the beginning. God, I love that album.

More than a remake by Namie herself, I'd love to hear something like hikaru cover album by different artists. Movin' on without you turned out so well and lots of namie's songs from the 90s could benefit from a similar kind of remake I think !

as for her older albums I like more songs off sweet 19 blues, but I think can you celebrate is perhaps the best song in her discography. ^_^ It does sound dated now though and anyone trying to listen to them now should keep that in mind I guess. I much prefer her newer albums to be honest, even though I _genic isn't my fav. Honestly like many of the songs, but she really should limit english in her songs, it gets grating to me through the album. sorry
