The covers remind me a bit moonfesta but at the same time, they're quite different from what we got previously. Only the dvd evoke the water of the title. This one and the cd version are my favourite.

I used to have a book on fairies when I was a child. These covers reminds me of that book so much. It's very pretty and...I think the word I'm looking for is nostalgic.

far on the water sounds flat? I don't know how to describe what I'm feeling with the right words. It is as if Yuki Kajiura couldn't choose between a ballad or a mid-tempo song. The song isn't deep enough to blow me away as others Kalafina's ballads and not dynamic enough to be really catchy. I'll wait to hear the full song to have a proper view.
The pv is boring but I like the blending between the girls and town's scenery.

Musunde hikaru sounds ok too me.

and Sorairo no isu is the only song that caught my attention among those previews. It seems to be really nice. I really like the arrangement.

I'm trying to get into the album, but it's not working. I think this is their weakest for me, aside from a few songs.

I agree, this album does not carry the strongest material, it's all very much "been there done that". I hope some songs will stand out more on re-listens, but overall, this is clearly their weakest album.

So everyone is thinking about the same thing.
To be honest, my favorite track is the intro, into the water features a nice amount of Kajiurago and again, it's really nice, but I don't even remember the rest of the album tracks, monochrome was interesting though.

The release dates between their release are decreasing, which resulting in "a quick production" and that's what we heard. It feels like Kalafina is becoming more mainstream with the music in this album, but really, maybe it's their changing style or might be anything. Maybe they are becoming popular now so Kajiura decided to go mainstream as well, but we never know.

Kajiura tweeted some liner notes about the new songs in Twitter, I compiled it for you all:

-When she created into the water, it felt like she was underwater, swimming freely until she returned to the land and realized she was exhausted, that she just went to a different world. An overture that gives the vibe of "This is the world of Kalafina."
-For some reason, this person is writing lyrics all night and flipped out a bit. (monochrome)
-Gogatsu no Mahou was something along moving from the monochrome world, challenged into colorful world.
-This is a bright song... I'm sorry I lied, it's not light at all it's quite dark I'm sorry. (usumurasaki)
-identify's unofficial title was "jya jya jya!"
-instinctive song, the last (new) song in the album which lyrics I wrote in about a day... Hmm? There was a song like that in the previous album right.. dejavu... (Sorairo no Isu)

You know, the last liner notes makes me think that she's not even worried if her songs sound alike with each other.

I think far on the water will grow in me later.

I never listened to Kalafina before, but I entered this thread accidentaly and I listened to the fairytale live. Wow, its really nice. Reminds me of Akiko Shikata. Any similar songs?
