To be honest I don't feel all that sad about this. It's been so long since I've heard news about 2NE1 as a group that I've kinda stopped caring about them. For the past while it's seemed to be CL&Friends or just CL, which I find more sad seeing as the rest of the group is just as talented as she. So I wish Minzy luck and hope to see her succeed wherever she ends up. She's a hard worker and a great performer, I'm sure she'll do fine.

Good for her leaving and I support her 100% I'm sad for seeing her go but it was to be expected. I'm only surprised that the other girls didn't
leave with her.

Yes. Not hating on CL though, she's 100% talented and I think that
she should go solo. I know CL already renewed her contract before
she did her USA stuff. I don't believe that the other girls renewed their
contracts but who knows.

I didn't believe that Utada was coming back this year and thankfully
she is so hopefully 2NE1 comes back as well. Let's wait for another miracle.

If she did, it would have looked like mutiny or disrespect to YG and the group. Minzy would have been criticized just like JYJ when they criticized SM. So, I don't think Minzy would have said anything because it would effectively end any post-2NE1 opportunities.

Honestly, I think YG has invested too much in the boys on the label because they are selling massive numbers and selling out venues in SK. But they've gone a bit overboard with it by becoming a one-trick pony with boy bands lately. 2NE1 was a big deal when YG actually invested in them. They're the only Korean group to be prominently featured in advertisements throughout the US. They're also one of only a few Korean artists to appear on US talk shows IIRC.

TBH, I don't think CL is pushing her solo track. I think YG is effectively saying, "Hey, if you still want to get paid, you have to be a solo artist now. 2NE1 isn't a thing anymore." People forget that Korean artists are 100% at the mercy of their label. They can't just put out whatever music they want, or do whatever kind of show they want. The label trains them, tells them what to do, how to perform, and what kind of image they're going to have.

Or did we all forget that Dara was required to chop her hair off a few years ago? And that she reportedly broke down in tears because of it?

remember when yg gave that announcement couple of years ago that 2NE1 will not continue if someone leaves or yg will not add any new girls to the group, they will always be the 4 of them

Blame YG instead they're the ones who's giving her of all of the jobs.
She's under contract and you can't break a contract unless you have a good
reason.
