That's totally possible but I find it hard to believe that the unpolishness is "on purpose" when it comes to Ayu Her team is usually just lazy and I think it's more probable that they simply didn't put a lot of work into finishing the songs properly. The same happened with the single version of "Last minute" that sounded slightly awful (and I'm glad they fixed it in the album).

Some stuff are done the way they are because she works on tight schedule (like rrcording today a single that will be out next week), what is probably her to blame, btw. Some stuff are done the way they are because it fits her idea better, and the unpolished or the ugly gets the message across better. I put most of her PVs at the first group and PQ at the second, even because it DOES fit the concept.

A lot of her songs have that unpolished feel to them, but you can hear the layers of detail in the songs, all the little moments to create the story being told. I remember there being a long discussion about the background sound in vogue. I've always thought she had the balance of... perfectly crafted pop and a more unpolished raw sound perfect. Party Queen though? It just lacks that attention to detail. It's not alone in that, I think some of her albums around that time suffer from it too (I adore a good portion of Love Songs but it sounds pretty flat in places, I totally get why people find it dull), it's just that PQ has such good lyrics, had this incredibly personal message... and for it not to come together perfectly for Ayu?! That's a shock. Like... the album kind of suffers from what she's singing about.

I just hope she will bring back the MC session with Yo chan where fans would ask questions for her, like during AT 2005 and AT 2006, those were so funny and entertaining. Its been quite boring nowadays with her dancers and they normally had nothing to talk about lol

A BALLADS II needs to be a thing. Ayu has released so many ballads since 2003, it would be a great album as she would really only be able to pick the best of the best. i.e. HEAVEN, walking proud, sweet scar, fated, momentum...

See, we all want A Ballads 2 avex and Ayu.
It would be so great. It would actually make me excited for a new compilation album. I would love it if Ayu did the same concept of the original album art but now, in current time.
I don't know about A Best 3. I suspect an "all time best" collection. But perhaps the 20th anniversary is too soon for that.

I've seen it on sale, but the songs I have are the live versions from Idol on Stage. I'm updating my collection and got very confused... :/

The album you're asking about is fanmade and not to be confused with the single MOON/blossom which was released in 2010 (though the cover doesn't look anything like the fanmade one above)

rainy day was a theme song for a video game but I don't recall how involved it was [along with Startin'] with the story.

until that Day.... as with a lot of Secret songs were about herself and her career, I believe.
