Her best English song is Alive, I can understand every word.
I think her pronunciation in other songs are good as well but sometimes I can't understand her when she's singing so fast.

Honestly I don't care what language she's using in her dance tracks, as long as they are good.

We never know what Namie is singing about in her dance music anyways, from that BINBIN bs in Chase the chance(Namie herself didn't even know what that mean at the time) to SO CRAZY, which is in mostly Japanese and even the Japanese fans didn't know WTH she was singing.

I actually didn't know Arashi was that involved with Are you Happy? And I thought it was a pretty good album actually. I much prefer it to Japonism. So I think it's a matter of taste.

At least Japonism had some album tracks that were good/memorable (such as Kokoro no Sora) even though sound consistency it wasn't there

Are You Happy? to me was just really bad & I was so bored with it . I only liked Don't You Get It and Miles Away , album tracks wise

While we're sort of talking about English lyrics let me just say I will never ever get over "crash and we burn into frames"

The decline in her pronunciation from FEEL to genic is astounding

Yeah, it was odd. Obviously, a lot of attention was paid to each line of Feel. Maybe they were originally thinking of some kind of western debut? Then scrapped the idea by Genic and was, like, heck who cares only Japanese people will hear this and they won't know the difference anyway. The difference was that jarring.

It's funny, but I feel like there are a lot of Japanese artists who had really clear English earlier in their careers, and then got worse. I actually think some of Namie's early stuff is her easiest to understand (Leavin' for Las Vegas, anyone? -- and that has L sounds!). Bonnie Pink underwent a similar weird decline, as well.

Namie's English in the SUITE CHIC album was on point.

I think a lot of that probably had to do with the fact that she was working with Dallas Austen. I do think at various points in her career they have toyed with the idea of attempting to take her international. I mean, Put Em Up was originally supposed to be a duet between her and Chili of TLC even.

And then everything about Feel shouted that imo; better English, all PVs shot in America, and extremely high quality; cameo by TLC again, et cetera. Then before Genic the plans changed.

All speculation on my part, but that's just how it has always felt to me.

That project itself was so on point. Wish Namie didn't abandone that style completely...

Did she release any new music after Just You and I? I haven't been following the news in a while.

No. Just You and I was her last release and there has been no new announcement.
There has been a speculation though that she might record a collab with Kumi <3

^I don't think it's true though. Namie has always collaborated with relevant artists, and Kumi hasn't been relevant for a long time now.

^They were all relevant to their music scenes when their collabs were released. Namie even mentioned she chose AFTERSCHOOL because of UEE's popularity.

LOL I CAN'T. but at the same time I kinda wish the divas in Japan can keep a certain distance from each other and just never collaborate.
