I remember listening to crossroad preview that could be downloaded or something with MOON single. It did sound pretty different from the final version indeed, but I was blown away by both. Does anyone have it?

As for Winter Diary, I actually really love that song. It has a very bittersweet tone to it that we don't hear too often in her ballads anymore. Also, I forgot where I read this interpretation (I believe it was a post on here, so please let me know if you were the one who said it!), but the Winter Diary PV actually does match up with the song. The song is about how Ayu wishes she could go back in time to confess her feelings and kind of "redo" things, and the PV illustrates that pretty well with the alternate timelines.

I've always loved Winter diary and I think this is the best description of it I have read on here. It's dripping with lament, but is counteracted with that famous Hamasaki resolve.

Ayu's discrography is so massive now that there's always a new song to re-discover. It's fantastic hahahaha.

Please, no. I think those compilations are an awful idea. To me, Kumi's Summer of Love and Winter of Love were such unnecessary releases, especially since all the new songs were terrible. I don't want Ayumi trying to pull that off as well. I'd rather she restrain herself from release anything this year if that's the only thing we could get.

Ex Tape is one of the most perfect songs KK has ever released!

As for Ayu, I could care less about a compilation unless it has new vocals and a couple new songs. I mainly want her to release an album because A) I want new music, and B) I assume we're not getting TA 2016 tour until there's a new release that they can make TA Exclusive, like with MIJ.

I would have said that back in 2010 (2013 at most). But with her current vocals... I don't really know how it would turn. Personally I'm not fond of them

^ She sounded great at TA 2016 when I saw her (though she was definitely stronger at TA 2015). MIJ the album has really solid vocals on it. I'm not concerned about the vocals she could pull off on a studio album, as long as she chose the right songs and also added a new arrangement where appropriate, to highlight her vocal changes.

I have to disagree What makes EX TAPE and HURRICANE even worse to me is that fact that they were released right after WALK OF MY LIFE, which is one of her best albums to date in my honest opinion. You could clearly see how the quality of her music decreased exponentially after that album That's mostly what made me stop listening to her songs as often as I used to...

MOON's preview came from Rock'n'Roll Circus IIRC, then MOON had crossroad. I think the main difference though was that crossroad was recorded badly at the time.

You can really tell she is an fan, considering this is pretty much a carbon copy of Ayu on stage

IMO her voice is really annoying... I also find Ayu's voice annoying a lot of times, but usually I overlook this because Ayu has an amazing emotional delivery, something this girl tries reaching through body language but that never really does with her face and voice.

I also really dislike covers that use the same arrangment as the original... I mean, I love seeing famous stars showing Ayu some respect, and it's great that this girl is a fan, but it felt a little karaokeish IMO

I do agree, SoL new songs were bad.
I liked WoL new songs and i'm often in Ballad mood in Winter so i like the release (even bought the Blu Ray).


Back to Ayu, since i've watched 50 SINGLES LIVE COLLECTION 2 weeks ago, I listen pretty much only Ayu's first 30 singles.
In general, i use to listen to her 2003~2010+ much more than her 1998~2002 music (with some exceptions of course) even if the first songs i listened were from her earlier era. I feel quite nostalgic, it's a good feeling.

I like seeing people cover Ayu's songs, because it's cool that they're fans too, but it never works for me. I feel like we've never got a cover from somebody who can emote as well as Ayu.

I think (one of) the best covers I've seen was Eriko Imai's cover of A Song for XX. It was part of a musical, so it was a little bit of a theatrical performance, but I think she handled it fairly well, all things considered. Ayu definitely has a strength and angst to her voice that a lot of others can't pull off.

I also hate when covers have the same instrumental as the original song. I would love a tribute cover album like the one they did for Utada, with new arrangement and a lot of talented people.

I loved when she sang duets on AyuReady! That would be better than a cover album, actually! Imagine a special concert just with her and some guests?

dont like her voice either but i give her props that she is in controll of her voice. if she could turn of the cuteness in her voice, it would be much better!
