I think the problem ayu currently has is too much touring but no new material. She had TA tour in 2016, Jtb CDL 2016-2017, Jtb tour 2017 and now PoM 2018 without releasing any new music aside WORDS and We are the Queens, it may be very hard for her to come up with new performances ideas while having no new songs to work with. But not releasing anything for the past 2 years has been HER decision after all.

I think the lack of material is making me more sensitive, the fact that she’s purposely not releasing DVDs and CDs, instead focusing 100% of her energy on touring is even more frustrating when she doesn't deliver in it lol.

I went to the first two shows of the first chapter, so it was even more jarring because I had no idea what the setlist or anything was going to be. When the main show was over and people were cheering for the encore, my friend and I were SO confused because we were like, "? That's it???" We were both shocked at how short and incomplete the show felt.

I completely feel you on the lack of new releases too, it's not like Ayu has to sit there and individually edit concert DVDs herself. I don't understand why there are so many recent concerts that still have yet to be released on DVD? That could have made for a cool 20th anniversary box set or something.

I guess it's only early in her anniversary and she's been so busy with the JTB tour, especially with the makeup dates/2.5 concerts so I feel like we're only gonna see the effects of her anniversary after this tour.

I mentioned in the tour thread about my likeness for ever free. I always loved that song but never realized how much it would hit me years later. I always found the lyrics to be so haunting, and that really corny video from her concert years and years ago, when she comes out of the casket and there's all those people watching her, has always touched me despite its...well, campyness.

I had this really close friend, someone who knew so much about me who died nearly five years ago from an overdose. Those lyrics touch me deeply, because the opening about the bright day and the flowers gives me flashbacks of my time with that friend.

I hoped that her 20th anniversary would get more coverage by the media like more magazines, some interviews on tv or some sort of documentary ... collaboration with big brands etc... but if I look to her 10th anniversary it wasn’t that impressive either ...2007 looked way more retrospective and festive with A BEST 2 and all the lives performances of older songs on tv, all the interviews she made etc... even The Tour of Secret as whole feels like a celebration.

I seriously need to get my hands on all her tv performances because i have seen so little, i've seen all of those from 2010 onwards but they aren't many loool From 1998 to 2010 i have seen less than 10, gotta look for a thread with all her tv performances.

I had a rough day today, in which I had to undergo a painful medical procedure. Felt sad and bad about myself the entire afternoon, but I fixed not ending up hating myself by... watching a marathon of Ayu videos! I finally watched glitter and Voyage, two PVs I never really cared about before. I enjoyed Voyage especially. She looks beautiful there. I also listened to the new PoM versions of ever free and NEXT LEVEL.
All I can say is how happy I am with her discography. Maybe I have stated sometimes I don't like some things she does, but to look back on everything she has delivered, I am so glad I never quitted supporting her. She remains interesting, charismatic and talented, whatever she decides to do.
Watching her videos made me feel nostalgic and emotional. It could be because of the rough morning that I feel so sensitive, but listening to her music, or watching her, makes my day good again. I feel finally at peace when I listen to her, I don't care how crazy that might sound.

interesting enough, that picture is nowhere to be seen in the MY STORY photobook. there's a similar one there, but not with that silhouette. it's so beautiful, kinda makes me want it to be the official cover for the album lol
