^ In her defense she did a huge medley during CDL 2016-2017 JtB with some songs she hasn't performed in a long time (HONEY, everywhere nowhere, WE WISH, independent, Trauma, +, Humming 7/4 (how long has it been since she last performed it at a regular tour in the encore section? feels like forever lol)). But i do agree that it should have been part of the actual 20th anniversary tour.

She had far better hearing, was 10 years younger and I never said PCDL with a fucked up hand wasn't a stupid idea. The 2nd worst idea about that cdl behind the fugly rainbow jaguar unitard.

It's not because she was stupid enough to perform like that before that she should be doing it again

^^ While i agree with you she insisted last year that her deafness got worse and that she'd lose her balance so much she would end up throwing up in the toilets while rehearsing I guess that's the main reason why JtB tour and PoM 2018 setlists are shorter than previous years.

Ayu has been a warrior since loong, even during Dome tour 2001 she got injured yet managed to perform as if it was nothing.

And the second worst thing in PCDL is the Angel's song outfit lmao

Soooo....I like making Ayu playlists a lot, and a I make a new one every five months or so...The new one I made, I generically named "Ayu-Dance" and I put in a lot of peppy, danceable songs of hers that I love. Of course, since I'm lazy, I'll just listen to it while writing and drawing. XD But, I listened to it last night and it's great. I love these types of songs from her.

I like making playlists for her music as well, the ones I currently have/listen are three, two consisting of her best songs from two different eras of her career and the other is "ayu from a to z", with songs that start with a until z, only missing q cuz she doesn't have a song that begins with it

If she keeps on releasing songs I think eventually we could have alphabet playlists for genres of songs as well. She really is a prolific songstress.

Is there a possibility that she only has tinnitus and not really going deaf? I mean, i dread the day she announces that she is 100% deaf. That would be a nightmare for the fans because that is basically the end of her music career.

I just hope that she is not really going deaf, but is losing hearing. (Tinnitus etc).

I feel she is rich enough to get the best treatment available so she can have her hearing until she's 80-90.

The main cause of her hearing loss is most likely performing live so frequently for 20 years.
I've read quite a bit about the dangerous noise levels of music concerts and none of it is positive. There is so much proof that concerts are too loud and can risk permanent hearing damage for the audience as well as the performers but things never change.
If I understand things correctly, Ayu has two options. Lower the volume of her shows or stop performing live. That is the only ways to save her hearing.
But it's difficult to get a good understanding of the situation. I don't know if it's because of the language barrier or Ayu seems to be vague when discussing her hearing loss.

I thought Ayu's hearing loss started when she was performing while ill. She should have cancelled a bunch of concerts to rest but she pushed through them and by the time she had chance to relax the damage was done.

I do wonder about her deafness and how it impacts her day to day. I wonder if she's learning to lip read or sign language or something to cope with day to day

I do remember some fans mentioning that she might've had tinnitus... I think, if i remember correctly, some people speculated (or was it confirmed officially? i'm not sure) that she had tinnitus during the early years of her career (the tour in 2000 maybe?) but she left it untreated and kept performing?

^Yes, but does hearing devices that she uses for performance uses everybody who performs in large spaces to hear music better because of acoustics. I don't think that is too late, she can still hear. She can rest, and tour less, and than, maybe her hearing can recover to some degree.
