Yes thank you for sharing! I wanted to update, but my laptop is broken and on phone it is a bit tricky to make a great post about it.

I love this song, I am listening to nothing else but this atm. Next week she will release another single. Idk if it is officially confirmed, but it will be called 'Venice Bitch'

Also, Lana confirmed working on a new album which will be released in 2019. These two singles will be included.
I am so happy. I noticed it has already been a year ago since she released Lust for Life. It feels so recent.

Little fun detail about the video: it has been shot by Lanas younger sister Chuck. She is pretty good at taking photograps (cover of Lust for Life album, High By The Beach single) and turns out cinematography is also one of her talents.
Some people on instagram speculate that the video was originally meant for 'Happiness is a Butterfly', some unofficial demo she put in one of her instagram posts.
They think this obviously because of the butterflies, and they claim you could see the actresses and Lana mouth the lyrics.
Personally, I haven't noticed it.

Oh yeah one more thing. Sorry, it is the excitement that keeps me talking. Mariners Apartment Complex seems to be written after a real event. She tells about a boyfriend who said, when staying at one of her favorite accomodations, he thought they would fit together perfectly because they were both very sad (You took my sadness out of context). The relationship did not last. This song resembles her feelings towards the breakup. No wonder why it feels so personal.
It has got those early Lizzy Grant vibes, in which she really put her purest emotions into her music.

I shall look for the sourch of the meaning behind the song. I am not sure if I tell the story well. There is also a radio interview but I haven't listened to that yet.

Few words from Lana during the Beats1 Radio interview earlier today about the title track:

Working with Jack, I was in a little bit of a lighter mood because he was so funny. So the title track is called 'Norman Fucking Rockwell' and it's kind of about this guy who's such a genius artist, he thinks he is the shit and he knows it and he won't shut up talking about it. So often I ended up with these creative types - or not, or whatever - and they just go on and on about themselves and I'm like yeah, yeah. But there's a little bit of merit to it, also. They are so good. I just like the title track so much that I was like OK, I definetely want the record to also be called like that.

In the song “Venice Bitch” there’s like another little reference to Norman Rockwell, which didn’t have to be in there. I don’t even remember if I threw it in there intentionally just to pop that message in a little further. I can’t even remember what I was thinking, but I think when I was writing this song, it was a more happy take on love and it was just sort of about like, “I tour, you write. We make it work.” And also you know I love having painter references because I think sometimes when you’re writing you’re sort of trying to paint these ideas into existence, because I’m very visual too. So yeah, I don’t know. I know it’s a crazy title, but that’s just the title of the record.

Along with the album, Lana will release a poetry book titled 'Violet Bent Backwards Over The Grass." It's sheduled to release before her new album. It's has been a very busy year for Lana!


ALSO, today Lana released the music video for Venice Bitch. The song is almost 10 minutes... so, wow.



She told Beats1 radio:

I played it for my managers and I was like 'yeah, I think this is the single I want to put out.' And they were like, 'it's 10 minutes long. Are you kidding me?' It's called 'Venice Bitch.' Like, why do you do this to us? Can you make a three-minute normal pop song? I was like, 'well, end of summer, some people just wanna drive around for 10 minutes, get lost in some electric guitar.'

"Venice Bitch" is really cool. The other song was a bit forgettable but Lana's music always takes a while to hit me.

Both Ultraviolence and Honeymoon took a year each after their respective releases for me to "get it." Now I love both. Still waiting on last year's album though lol. Nonetheless, I'm excited!

Also, I wouldn't be mad if that's confirmed to be the cover. It's pretty cool.

Me too! Oh my god, I can't express myself enough how much I am just readddddddyyy for this album. And I love how her older discography just keeps me busy, that I'm like, 'New album? New music? So soon? YES!'.

Though I have outgrown a little bit the Lust For Life phase. I was over the moon about this album, yet I only listen to Lust For Life, 13 Beaches, White Mustang and Summer Bummer. BUT! I have fallen in love with Honeymoon, an album which felt unspectacular to me before.

Anyway, both Mariners Apartment Complex and Venice Bitch are just everything to me. Like snowo described: [Venice Bitch] is a mood. And I am so adoring this mood. I listen to the songs in my car and it is so soothing... and emotional at the same time. It feels so personal, as if reading a letter from her to a significant person in her life. Seriously, I can't wait to hear what else she has written!

Lana announced via Instagram, she is currently filming for - well, assumingly - the song Happiness is A Butterfly. In the video we see her with two other ladies (I believe they are also in the video Lust For Life) singing together.
Turns out we might get this gem on the new album yaaaaay.

Also she teased us with another snippet of a song How To Disappear. It is very emotional. However even if she includes these two songs on the new album, we got at least three songs that sort of sound like each other. Mariners Apartment Complex has the same vibe as them. I hope the album won't turn out flat. Standing alone, all songs are masterpieces imo.

Cinnamon sounds nice, but isn't it referred to the whole Azealia Banks feud?
No idea if that is true though. However, the whole drama is so tacky.

Even though we are here Lana-fans and can give her kudos for her standing her ground, while Banks go all beserk on Twitter, I just despite Lana for reacting towards her in the way she did. I am all here trying to ignore the childish Twitter drama, because eventhough I am living for celebrity feud - but when it is just tacky, I loose interest very quickly and Lana-fans on Instagram are constantly bringing up the new tea. Which is in my opinion just ugly, like how these grown women throw shit towards each other.

Imagine we all follow their examples and talk to each other on this forum that way. Oh my god.

Also there is not really something to say about or agree about the whole feud. Both make points I agree & disagree with. Banks is now all body-shaming, Lana reacts passive-aggressive. As a Lana-fan I would have hoped to see her rise all above it, but unfortunately she doesn't and her fans continue on fighting along with her. I guess we have all way too much time in the world.

Rant over. I am still just waiting for the new album. I cannot wait, everything she has teased me with is just too good.

One of them is How to disappear and Venice Bitch
There are small fanclips from the event, but I haven't really seen it around. On YouTube I could find a higher quality audio in which you can listen to both live versions. It is really beautiful.



I find it hilarious that she tells the audience she can't reveal the name of her new album or the other song, because she's been told not to swear on the event.

Her outfit was very simple - but I like it. She was so pretty girl when she once started, and now she comes over as more relatable.

Thanks for keeping this thread so updated I keep checking in, but I don't post back... sorry about that! All the news is so exciting. I'm really happy Lana is still about and being enthusiastic about releasing. I also agree that her vibe right now is more relatable, although I hope she mixes it up with some of her old look sometimes too. The change is refreshing and it works both ways.

The stuff Azealia said was so gross and vile though, I actually felt sick to my stomach reading some of it. I think Lana replied in a way that stood her ground without stooping to her level. Plus, I feel like you have to do a LOT to make Lana angry - it's not like she usually pops off on people.
