The Love Enhanced version definitely redeems it although it's not one of my favourite Namie ballads.

^ Namie has like 3 songs on Spotify. Fish, Luvotomy and make it happen. Not sure if they’re official. It’s crazy that her stuff isn’t on Spotify. Especially considering all her English stuff...Avex is missing out on potential revenue...which is highly unlike them.

The weirdest thing is that iirc her discogrpahy is up on iTunes music x_x So it's not like her team is against streaming services, it's just a Spotify thing... And Kuu and ayu are there, I don't reallt get this...

I really think it's because of her retirement. I guess if she released more material they would probably push her to put her discography on streaming services
Fish and Luvotomy are because of m-flo's discography, make it happen is an unofficial upload that it was taken down before but now it's back |

It's not really that strange.
Spotify just isn't an important platform in Japan at the moment. Even Billboard Japan and Oricon are not counting Spotify for their streaming charts and that pretty much says it all. It's only necessary for artists internationally and most Japanese artists simply don't have a need for that. And Namie is retired, so that need is even smaller in her case. Her discography is on streaming platforms like apple music and Line Music.

Is it on Apple Music? Cause I've tried to access it and the catalog is the same as the one in spotify. =(
And I'm in Japan! |

Haven't used Apple Music in years, but I thought I remembered listening to her when I used it. She is completely on Line Music tho, I've checked before posting yesterday (but apparently only for certain subscription types).

That makes sense. And yes, I believe you can buy her stuff on iTunes worldwide, as far as I know, but not streaming on Apple Music.

Hand to God I thought it was a P!NK cover for the longest time. It just sounded like a P!NK song. The ballad would be very nice if pretty much anybody else would be singing it but as it is on the album... It is a must skip for me for that reason alone.

Never mind the fact that she's got practically nothing on Spotify; how dumb is it that her official site has basically been taken offline when she retired?
As I understand it, her official site is https://namieamuro.jp, correct? It's not because an artist retires that the public at large shouldn't be interested in looking her up and learning about her discography, or stop buying her stuff altogether. I mean, the Beatles quit recording long before anyone had ever heard of a "web site", and they have theirs, and it's probably going to keep going even after the last of them is long gone. It's silly to take that offline and essentially expect that people will learn about her through Wikipedia or fan sites. As an artist, even in retirement, you don't want fan sites to represent you. No offence to anyone who's ever put up fan sites; I'm sure you all know what I mean by this. All I'm saying is that it blows my mind that her perfectly functional site got taken offline when retired. Who cares if there's no new content? Keep it up as an archive. |

^ Yes, that is her official website. The only links that still work are the fanspace store log in and the help email. Totally agree with you, but maybe the management couldn't come to an agreement on who would maintain the website. Did they dissolve Dimension Point after her retirement? Maybe Avex didn't want to pay it. Or she could have requested to take it all down. It just sucks because I'm sure she still makes money off the royalties. I assume people are still buying/will still buy her stuff in the future and it would be good to have an official source/archive of her works and releases just for reference.

I have the feeling Namie is the one that wants her to be completly erased from the public to live a normal life.

^ It's entirely possible, and seems like the most plausible reason, at least in my opinion. I don't know how successful she'll be in becoming totally anonymous again, just because of how the world is today with camera and media everywhere, but it seems like she's been doing OK with it so far.
