In fact it did mention that some still regard her as a driving force within Avex, and an insider hopes she will resume activities to "save" Avex from the current crisis.

I'd be very surprised if she WASN'T a driving force in Avex. Her back catalogue will bring revenue, and all the concerts and product sales make a lot of money. Yamaguchi Momoe, who stopped working in 1980, once said in an interview that decades later she still made a decent income from those royalties. Or, another example--recently in the "Free Britney" movement I've seen estimates of Britney Spears making over 100 mil a year, way after she's no longer "relevant" and her albums aren't selling.
