The more I watch, the more I like...

The director who shot this is amazing, using the cool effects of fast forwarding, pausing, quick movement while ayu in place... *In love*

Urgh.Its no longer fun to watch 3 similar videos AYUMI! eg. Ourselves, Game & About You. The song is nice though. I can almost bet that this pv was done in a day.

Well I did do some detective work. I posted it earlier in the thread (If anyone read it). But yea, here it is again I guess.....

Anyways, talking about the artistic value. While some of you have figured out that it may have a connection with Richard Avedon, I also found some past Ayu history in there as well possibly. (Sorry I'm not quoting anyone...I'm kinda lazy to do so).

Now this may only be me, but so far what I have found (and using some of your suggestions as well):

-The Crow (Game Video)

-Dancer with the tattoos, and it may be me, but the walls to either side of Ayu (In Green) look like old t.v.s or something. (Game Video)

-The Red Dress, and Lightning. (The red dress looks similar to the one she wears in Seasons, and the lightning could resemble the same video) (Seasons, Vogue, Far Away Videos)

-The Ice Cube (As most call it) kinda reminds me of the Rainbow Cover. (Rainbow)

-The guy in the ice cube looks kinda like the guy from the Kanariya video, and the eyeshadow is worked the same way. (Kanariya Video)

-The plant person reminds me of the I Am... Cover (I Am...)

-Then I could have swore I saw a colorful wavey motion in the background, so that could tie to the Surreal video. (Surreal Video)

-Also, if you really look at the background a bit, it kinda looks like the interior of a starship or something, you especially see it at the end...and it looks kinda like the main interior during the Real Me video. (Real Me Video)

-The camera motions (as someone else said), could tie to Inspire maybe, so thats always a possibility (Inspire Video).

-Then theres the two Ayu's signifying Ourselves, as there were two Ayu's in both Ourselves, Rainbow (more than two), and Fly High. (Ourselves Video, Rainbow Video, Fly High Video)

so yea....thats what I've come to find so far...I mean, this is only me. To me all of that being in the video, symbolizes "MY STORY" becuz its recapping parts from her past, to now, in artistic forms. I hope someone can share the same view as what I'm seeing.

*Ok maybe scratch the tvs.....but also theres something on a screen in the background behind Ayu (In Green). Its playing something so that might be another thing*

Remind anyone else of INSPIRE?

sure, that does seem like a valid discovery. Its not the same tatoo, but it shares the symbolism, to me at least. So yes, that to me, would have a tie in with Inspire. So another discovery made by _CREA_

We should make another thread for the discoveries that we find in the video. Would that be a bad idea?? or is it a good one???

I kinda liked it. It's certainly not one of my favorites. And there was a part of that song that sounded so familiar. It sounded like maybe a Trapt song, or was it Hoobastank...? Oh, well. I liked the ice cube.

i thought the song was okay...it was basically a mash of every one of her old songs into one. lol it was like i had heard it before.

btw anyone caught who the director is for this PV? has he directed any other PVs for ayu before??

cuz i think ourselves, because of you, and game have the same director ..
(correct me if i'm wrong) with the whole 'dark' theme that ayu is so obsessed with lately

Wow, I've only watched it once, this morning, and I haven't felt any urge to watch or listen to it again. With both GAME and surprisingly even INSPIRE, I watched the PVs a second time. This was not a very surprising PV, it was quite boring. I'd prefer something beautiful like CAROLS but this isn't the right song to do it to. I think HOPE or PAIN sounded like it'd make a better PV to air to promote the album...

Sorry, I have to change my rating because I realized I was too nice in it.

PV:4/10. Unorginal, Uninspired. The director re-used so much from previous PVs even so far as to use the exact same shirt movements from GAME. During GAME I was really pumped up and excited, it drew me in, but this just made me think, "Is it over yet, I can't wait to turn it off and never watch it again."

Song:5/10. Almost as boring as the PV. PVs are what make your remember songs and leave a lasting impression if it's also the first time you have heard the song. Ayumi's M was a beautiful song with a beautiful PV that I will always remember. CAROLS and forgiveness were also beautiful PVs that really helped me like the songs. This song already boring and repetitive, and to make it worse, the bridge and final chorus did not seem any different from the rest of the song.

And blah, I don't care if some of you think I'm just always so negative. As you can see, I don't hate all Ayumi's new music, I actually like CAROLS, Moments and GAME as well as her old stuff. I still consider myself a fan, though a very critical one. Artists have their ups and downs, and it seems Ayu is currently in a down...

Same director as GAME, Greatful days and ANGEL'S SONG. I had a post with all the PVs he's directed, but I can't find it.

I agree. I like the song, but the video just brings up the same old feelings for all those other videos. I guess i just miss the old days when it seemed like every PV was different and i could watch them more than once. I do agree that this darker view is a very personal and symbolic piece, I guess i just don't connect with this side of her as much. :p At least the acutal songs i can still listen to over and over again

Ryu, you seem to be the only person other than thejadangel to notice the similarity between it and kanariya. This is more like kanariya, and it's not really like game at all. Kanriya had the painted faces and had a definete bird reference. It's not REALLY like game. I thought kanariya right off the bat. But the only problem with the song is the guitar at parts...it reminds me of some sort of weird christian music...o_o; So I like it because it's interesting and not boring like game. The only problem is that it is repetetive. Ayu needs to be taking more control again. Although the painted people really do scream "ayu."

Meh. What a generic, unoriginal video. Because of this PV I'm not getting the CD+DVD anymore. None of the videos this year (except for INSPIRE and maybe CAROLS) were marginally entertaining. =/ I don't get why everyone's so excited about this PV...it's nothing compared to last year's. If Ayu wants to do a dark PV, she should make one as good as Because of You. I would've LOVED for 'my name's WOMEN' to have a pv...

As for the song, i give it 7/10. I think this is one of Kazuhito Kikuchi's less interesting compositions.

I only planned on getting the CD+DVD for the CAROLS PV..I'm better off just buying the single with Moments since I'm not going to buy MY STORY since it sounds horrible...
