Now allow me to explain. IMO, the fact that one does in fact like Ayu does not mean he or she does not love any other music by definition. I myself still consider myself as a fan of Ayu (although I find her recent output disappointing), but that doesn't mean I have no knowledge of American music. I listen to anything, Japanese, American, Dutch, French, English music - I'm fine with anything as long as it's good. Being into Ayu does not automatically make it impossible to listen to anything other than her or anything other than Jpop, at least, not for me.

yes i get wat u mean what but the question on this thread says "You Know You're An Ayu Fan When...." meaning that not everyone will have to agree and the same answers

yes ofcourse it's just that you said "the fact that one does in fact like Ayu does not mean he or she does not love any other music by definition. I myself still consider myself as a fan of Ayu, but that doesn't mean I have no knowledge of American music."
but lotusoka was just refering it to himself that he doesn't know new American artists and some ppl may agree or may not agree....but it just seems that you took it the wrong way and were thinking he is refering it to all ayu fans, which he wasnt....thats all

Well, there is a certain kind of generalisation-type stuff about this thread I guess, which is why I pointed it out. Of course though, anyone can have different interpretations of what makes him- or herself an Ayu fan; me, lotsuka, anyone. So, let's say we agree and get back on-topic, shall we?

I'll throw in a characteristic.

- You own all studio albums on CD.

Huzzah, I qualify!

Haha, calm down guys. Being a fan is different from being uhh *tries to put it lightly* obsessed?

I think being in a music forum talking about Ayu is a big factor in being a fan ^.-

Edit: Unless you are those types that like to make fun of fans in those forums but secrelty enjoy Ayu

My best friend lives close by, and we're both huge Ayu fans. ^_^

-When you check this board every day to see if you do the things mentioned
-When you learn Japanese by listening to Ayumi's songs
