She doesn't. Ayu sold more than her in 2005, but Koda Kumi made more money, probably because Koda Kumi released two CDs [more expensive than singles] while Ayu just released MY STORY.

Birthday Eve and You doesn't count because they were released after november/2005 and that's when the Oricon year finish.[/QUOTE]

Love & Honesty sold over 800k, Love Punch sold over 600k and Love Jam sold over 400k.

It's still very good to see Ayu in the top 5, though, especially since she had a quieter release year.
It's very accurate because it's not about how much money the artist made, but how much money they did for SALES, so, tours doesn't count. If the tour counted, than Ayu would be after lots of artists who sold less than her [SMAP, Mr. Children] but she would be before Koda Kumi, obviously. Ayu sold out all her concerts in big venues while Koda Kumi didn't make any proper tour, only for small concert venues.

Maybe, but I don't think so looking at Oricon Daily. With singles released every week, fans we'll have more to chose from and I think YOU won't sell as much as it would.
