I love I am... because I love almost all the songs on it. I can listen to it all the way through without skipping any tracks.

I don't dislike RAINBOW, it's just not my favourite.

Dude, one song makes I am... a kickass album — Connected. GO, FERRY CORSTEN, GO!

RAINBOW had Heartplace, which is one of my all-time favourite Ayu songs.

A Song for XX luckily had Hana, which I hold a special place in my heart for.

(miss)understood had Ladies Night. I am in love with it.

MY STORY had... Moments. OWNAGE.

Duty had Far away (ATARASHIKU... WATASHIRASHIKU... ANATARASHIKU... ), which I love to death.

LOVEppears had too late. The best remix ever is "too late "LaB LIFe remix"". ^_~ DOKO MADE MO TSUYOKU, TSUYOKU! Beep boop, beep boop...

And.. Memorial address had Because of You. Oh, how I love Because of You. ^-^

So, all albums have a good point, but some have... bad stenches following them.

I am... was brought down COMPLETE by NEVER EVER and Daybreak.

RAINBOW... had Close to you. MY LEAST FAVOURITE AYU SONG EVER.

A Song for XX had Present. jKLJKLCJDL; EW.

(miss)understood had BALD & DISGUSTING!

MY STORY had WONDERLAND (interlude) and winding road (song). ¬_¬

Duty had teddy bear EW. And girlish EW.

LOVEppears had LOVE ~refrain~.

Memorial address had... *Barfs.* FORGIVENESS. Worst song on the album — actually, only bad song on the album. This brought it down.

Gasp! A fellow Present hater. xD

I Am... is a great album; it has a lot of great songs like A Song is Born, Endless Sorrow, Dearest, I Am... Daybreak (yes, I love Daybreak xD), and M. I don't think it's her best album, but it really stands out because she composed all the songs on it.

"I am..." is not my favorite album but it's great. Here's why:

01. I am... > Great opening and song.
02. opening Run > Great interlude.
03. Connected > Awesome techno/trance song.
04. UNITE! > Okay song.
05. evolution > Good song.
06. Naturally > Wonderful song.
07. NEVER EVER > One of my favorite of all time.
08. still alone > Okay song.
09. Daybreak > Wonderful song.
10. taskinlude > AMAZING interlude.
11. M > Spectacular song.
12. asong is born > Beautiful ballad.
13. Dearest > Good ballad.
14. no more words > Great ballad.
15. Endless sorrow ~gone with the wind ver.~ > Great song.
Bonus track: flower garden > Best "hidden" track!

Basically, every one of the tracks are good. None of them are bad. Great album.

She didn't compose that much on Rainbow- certainly not as much as I am.... "I am..." was her peak album in her career, not counting A Best. The songs are wonderful on it, but it's not my favorite- that would have to be LOVEppears.

This was the first Ayu album I bought, even though I didn't start to listen to her until right before "&" was released. The first songs I ever heard from her (still alone, dearest, no more words) and some of the first PVs that I fell in love with (Endless Sorrow, Evolution, Dearest, etc, etc) were from that era. Some of the songs on the album had to grow on me (NEVER EVER, Endless Sorrow ~gone with the wind version~), but now it's one of my favorite albums to listen to.

Overrated. It's not that amazing. Duty and LOVEppears are definitely better. I'd probably put it on the same level as A Song for XX.

If she were to make an A BEST 2, I am... would probably be the most prominent in her collection. This is when she started to renew herself... So the songs feel "Fresh". IF she were to rerecord an album, I think it'd be I am...

I am... is my favorite album for many reasons. 1) It has many of my favorite songs (evolution, M) 2) It's one of my favorite genres (pop-rock) 3) The theme is fantastic and 4) As someone else said, it flows. (Something that I think (miss) understood and to a point MY STORY lacks. I still listen to this album all the time, and I feel that there is so much emotion in it. Her other albums are great as well, but none pull me in like I am... does. And totally unrelated, but it was the first J-pop album that I ever bought, let alone by Ayu.

I unno why i like this one so much.
But my favroites are Duty and I am...
Why I am...?
I'll write this as asongforxx did.
01. I am... - One of my favorite Ayumi songs ever.
02. opening Run - Nice song. Great interlude.
03. Connected - Catchy and nice.
04. UNITE! - YAAY LET'S DANCE TO THIS CATCHY BEAT!
05. evolution - o.o..Speaks for Itself.
06. Naturally - this was my favorite song for awhile. It's catchy, and nice, with a topper of A+ lyrics. (Reminds me of monochrome for some reason...)
07. NEVER EVER - YAAY! I love this song. Especially the acoustic orchestra ver.
08. still alone - this was my first ever FAVORITE ayu song. I's lowered its rank now.
10. taskinlude - simply
11. M - Catchy, Sweet, amazing lyrics that EVERYONE loves.
12. A song is born - I never liked this song much...But i LOVED the lyrics.
13. Dearest - *cough* sig *cough* BEAUTIFUL ballad. It was even mentioned on my favorite show of all time - Inuyasha
14. no more words - I never liked this song much until i heard the acoustic orchestra version. The original was kinda...Blah.
15. Endless sorrow ~gone with the wind ver.~ - It was OK. I didn't love it as much as the original Endless Sorrow. This version kinda flopped.
Flower Garden (Hidden) - PRETTY!!!!!! Best hidden track evar.

Then, all the singles released had OMG BEAUTIFUL covers. Exept for that funky shirt she wore for evolution still nice cover.

And another reason why this album was so popular and such a good sellar was:
A - It was based almost entirely on the 9/11 attacks in NY (Cover-Booklet/ A Song if Born)
B - Two of the songs are featured on the VERY popular anime - Inuyasha. The album sold a bit more when Inuyasha was dubbed (crappily) into english. Of course all the anime people have to collect anything related to anime
(Why did they dubb it?!?! >.> Dubbed version is crap..)

According to the poll here, the majority of forum users like that album. IMO it is her most underrated album.

This is definetely my favorite album. I skip songs less frequently than on any other album and I like ayu's voice best on this album too. Her voice is not yet as strong as Rainbow, but not as weak as LOVEppears. What about Duty? Her voice was still maturing in Duty, just as it was in this album, but I like her voice in this album best. I think it has a both a certain feeling of weakness and strength to it that I really like. I also like ayu's lyrics best in this period, and the ayu she was. She's changed, and I don't like the new ayu as much as the old.

Connected is a 10 out of 10 track. Perfect in every way. All the songs are good. The melodies stick in your head.

I love I am... but I find it grossly overrated. I like the songs individually, but the tracklist makes it hard for me to believe people when they say I am... has a lot of variety. I don't like LOVEppears as much as I am... but it blended even better without having all the tracks sounding the same as the next. Maybe Ayumi's large involving in the composition is a bonus to many but I don't consider her the greatest composer in the world.

In the beginning her voice only sounded weak, childish and insecure, now she almost only sounds "strong" and mature. During I am.. she was the perfect blend I suppose. I miss her old squeaky light voice...
Although I prefer her more mature voice in songs like voyage and moments, I guess we'll never have another "trust"-sounding song.
