My mp3 player is great because I'm always on the move, but sometimes (today for example), it's nice to just sit down, rest your ears from those nasty headphones and listen to music the way it's meant to be heard, on a stereo.

After a semi-long distance run today, it felt good to listen to some "relaxing" music. Actually I listened to Shiina Ringo's 'Karuki Zamen Kuri no Hana', which I haven't listened to in the longest time because the Copy Control doesn't allow me to mp3-ize it. I'm so glad, because it's so much better listening to music without silly mp3 players. But I must admit, when I'm out doing all the busy daily life stuff, it's nice to have music as a sort of soundtrack to my life, and depending on my mood and how well the music fits the moment, the music can become stronger or weaker.

Does anyone get this or did anyone actually read it all?

I get it BanFan hehe thanks for your opinion! Now it is just a matter of getting that money together haha, I have an mp3 CD player but those are just big and inconvenient.

I would not buy an iPod. Actually they are too expensive. But there are some really good portable hard drive players like iRiver (it's the best I think). But I struggle in buying one because the copyright law will be changed soon and then people here won't be even allowed to make mp3s from their own original CDs they bought. That dump!

I use CDs more than I use my iPod, but then again my iPod is one of the old generation ones that had all the problems. It won't last for more than 15 minutes without dying so I just stick with my CDs. If I need music on the go, my car plays MP3 disks, so it doesn't really make as huge of a difference.

On the contrary, I think an iPod is an excellent investment. For $299, not only do you get to put videos, audio, text, AND photos, you get to view/listen to them on the move. That's 30GB, and that's pretty big. It's like an external hard drive that you can get at the computer store for the same price.

This wasn't to put your opinion down, it's just may be you haven't thought about it this way.

Portable hard-drives aren't anywhere as expensive as iPods, 40+ gig ones only go around for $90USD.
