Sounds like you had a lot of fun! I hope we get to see a picture of the outfit you described, it sounds very cool!
I also can't wait to see the performance of Alterna and Ladies Night.

Truhappiness: That picture is amazing! It can be hard to find nature in such beautiful condition these days, Thanks for sharing. I gotta get my butt to Hawaii someday.

People have asked what I thought of the performance. Well, my seat was pretty close to the stage, so I had a very good view, but I suppose the trade-off to being so close was that it was LOUD, LOUD, LOUD! Sometimes it was so loud that I could not even hear Ayu's voice! When she sang quieter songs, I was able to hear better...but by that point my eardrums had been rattled and everything sounded muffled. I suppose all concerts are this loud, but I've never been to a concert before in my life, so maybe I'm just not used to it. ^^; Some classmates that I went with who were in the "standing section" (so far back that I couldn't even see where it was) said that they could hear her voice perfectly, and that she sounded great. I guess I'll just have to take their word for it because it was extremely hard for me to judge the vocal quality of something I usually couldn't hear. During the acoustic section (which was the section I could hear the mosr clearly), where she sang Heaven and Teens, I thought she did a very good job, even though I don't particularly like Teens.

HOWEVER, since I had such an up close view of the stage, I can say that I found the performances to be fantastic. I am always impressed by the dancers, musicians, Ayu herself, the sets, special effects....you really get the feeling that everyone is one big family working together to make a great show. Whether this concert was "better" than the My Story one last year is hard to say. I LOVE the My Story concert but I loved this one too and am very excited for it to be released on DVD.

Oh yeah, and Yo-chan is an incredible guitarist. I'm sure you all already know that. He's definitely developed a strong following of his own and the crowd loved his solo.

I guess in conclusion I can say that going to Ayu's concert has been a whole new experience for me. Seeing Ayu wave to you from a DVD, and seeing her ACTUALLY wave to you in the audience is quite different!
The concert sounds like it was so much fun! I have to agree with you about seeing Ayu wave on the DVD and waving to you live.

He actually had a following prior to ever being involved with Ayumi. He was actually in a boyband in the 80s.

Which arena did you see the concert in? If it was an older arena that could explain the sound issues. But yes, crazy as it sounds, often times the closer you sit, the less you will be able to hear clearly. That's why I normally go for seats that aren't too close to the stage. Especially since I had a hearing scare after sitting front row at a concert once.

Me neither, I am so excited about owning the DVD and being able to say, "yup, I went to this!"

Sunshineslayer: Yo-chan in a boyband? Awesome! Do you know the name of the band?

The arena I went to was Osaka Castle Hall. I have no idea how old or new it is, but it looks pretty new to me. If I ever go to a concert again, I'll probably bring earplugs.

Ahh, I'm not sure about the Osaka one, but usually the newer the venue the better the accoustics. And yeah, it is always good to bring ear plugs if you are seeing a band in a venue like a club or will be sitting close to the stage at a large concert - even if you only wear the plugs like every 15 minutes or so it is worth it. Venues do have certain sound perameters that they are not supposed to exceed but everyones ears are different, so you can never be too careful when it comes to protecting your ears at concerts lest you want to end up with permanent hearing damage. (just look at Ayu)

The name of that group Yoshio was in escapes me at the moment, but I'll try to find out.

The group was called The Goodbye. Yoshio was also a TV star in his teens apparently.

I'd love to attend one of her concerts someday. Just gotta hurry before she retires. If she ever announces her last tour or anything I'll just literally drop everything at once and jet off to Japan to see it.

I really think that Ayu tries hard to relate to all her fans and establish a bond with them. This is really nice.

OMG, you were up close? So lucky! LOL. But yeah, I bet the music was really loud, so I would actually prefer a seat just a little farther back, you know?

Sounds like a cool concert, I'm so psyched about it. :] New costume... Too bad it's probably only for the concert you went to. -shrugs- Thanks for sharing!
