This is NOT TRUE (at the moment) and this is an Ayu forum so how can you say that, lol? And I thought my joke was so funny because Ku is always flashing her sexiness you know and it is just picking on that fact, just like many people say Ayu wears lots of make-up (which I don't think she does because her pics w/out make-up were gorgeous) and I made a joke how Kumi said that about Ayu! Sense of humor much? Anyways, another reason I am sort of upset with Ku and Avex is that she is selling out (mainly due to avex wanting more money)! Releasing these singles and songs one after another and "BEST" albums... I mean come on now! I guess it is easier to do when you don't write any of the lyrics...

Like I said, sense of humor... Just like I love Hilary Duff but am very upset that she has succumb to the comments about her weight and lost it all and has become a stick figure and has a horse face... Believe me - I love Hilary Duff (Ill show you pics of my room) but I can joke about it... I do love Ku as well, just not as much (far from it) as Ayu - she is prob. my 3rd fav. jpop artist!

I read earlier in this thread (or maybe another) that she didn't write much but a few... Also, how could she put much thought into them if she released them 1 week after another? I'm refering to the 12 singles, not the other songs because that is where she had begun to sell out (even though I love the 12 singles, lol)...

anime_fanatic21: just because Kumi didn't write all of her lyrics doesn't mean that she didn't pour her heart onto it. Her lyrics are as well-written, if not better, as Ayu's. Afterall, Ayu isn't the only one who can write her lyrics, alot of other artists do it too. If you're a fan as you claimed you were, you should be glad that she's doing well now.

I love Ayu and Kumi the same, really, but that's just stupid. Of course Koda Kumi worked as much or harder than Ayu to have what she has to day. I'm not gonna "research" every bit of Kumi history before I say something about her - I didn't know it took "years" to put out 12 songs (It only takes one year to make an album most of the time) and I am just sick of hearing "Kumi is the new best" "Ayu is trash" "Kumi is more popular than Ayu" "Ayu is getting old and Japan wants fresh faces" - enough! Can you see why I get mad? Mainly because Ayu's career isn't over, she is still the best, I mean, it ain't like she is at the end of the Alterna PV. Ayu worked hard to become big too before she got with Avex so "do some research"...

It's true that you shouldn't have to know every detail about other artists. But if I were going to speak badly about another artist, I would want to do some research first so that I'm informed about what I'm speaking about. Ayu is my all time favorite, but I have no problem also pointing out the strengths of other artists.

And while I don't want to make this a bigger deal than it is - there is no doubt that Ayu has worked super hard since her debut but even she herself thinks that it came fairly easy to her. (hence in alterna her suddenly getting a message saying she is a star and she has a suprised look on her face) She was discovered in a kareoke bar and by her own admission had no intention of becoming a singer - she only did it because she "had nothing better to do."

Well, talent has something to do with it. But I do agree Koda does deserve some recognition after 6 years. I don't think she will ever be able to touch Ayumi though in terms of songwriting and live performances.

Well, I would never say that. Not even close really. I think Ayumi is one of the best lyricists in the world.
