When she forgets her lyrics... it kind of cheers me up! I mean, it`s fun when something like that happens. And I forgive her - maybe she overworked herself or maybe she was nervous or something. And yes, everyone is human, we can`t memorize everything. She has a lot of songs... Well.. I don`t know if she really DID forget them or she did it on purpose. Actually, I don`t care! It`s fun to watch her like that. She makes me laugh

It makes me love Ayu even more because she doesn't let it get to her and she continues on and apolagizes, she's great!

I love how she _always_ apologize... and I how she re-made a verse of trauma(?) into an excuse when she screwed up earlier in the song during some performance .

If I had not seen the subtitles, I probably would've thought it was the song.

I don't really get what your trying to say...

But Ayu screwing up her lyrics shows how human she is and how she doesn't lip synch. I never said "Ew. Ayu screwed up her lyrics. That's so lame. *insert artist's name* would never do that!". I think it's very normal and the way she reacts is really funny.

I think everyone here would say it's cute, I don't think anyone has anything to complain at, heh.

BEST ones are when she starts rolling around, that is so awesome hahahaha. And Yocchan is like Ayu...Ayu...Ayu...stop rolling around now... Btw I didn't know Koda and Boa made mistakes like that too (no doubt they can't beat Ayu when it comes to making mistakes and playing them off ). It's a very good feeling to know that performers can go out there and do their best while having a little fun. It's an even better feeling to know that the audience enjoys performances even more for that.

Kinda sucks about the prevalence of lipsyncing in America and Europe (from what I've heard around here). I don't really watch US music TV performances; is it really that obvious when someone lipsyncs? I'm reminded of the time Ashley Simpson was caught lipsyncing and she did a hoe-down. The media made such a big deal out of that. It seems as if the American public is too used to seeing "flawless" performances, encouraging lipsyncing.

How much do you think it matters that Ayu is an establish artist? I wonder if Japanese audiences would react differently to a new comer making mistakes.

omg, I loved the video where Ayu fell on stage. She got right back up and laughed it off. I love Ayu. I think the video is on AHO. Is it on AHS somewhere?

And I loved the "I would be a pmp" video. Some guy asks her, I think it was, what would you do if you where a boy for a day? something like that. Ayu says "I`d be a pimp and pick up chicks".

bahahahahahhaa

That one, from AT05 if I'm not wrong, is hilarious .

yes... it really is, unless the artist is really freakin' skilled and the track being played in the background is not the original CD track.

Add the European audience to that aswell... yeah, and I think that gives some weight behind your thought about that Ayu would very possibly be looked down upon for her mistakes by those audiences.

I'm quite sure they would react differently, how different is very hard to say though. Ayu had a major breakthrough before she was even given the chance of making a single mistake I think.

That is only the translators interpretation, she doesn't actually use a word like that, I'm quite sure because me and some other have looked into it... I'm not very good at Japanese though.

She says charaiko which comes from chara chara shiteru ko. ko is kid and chara chara shiteru is like...to act like a cool dude lol. It's like there's a separate verb for being the kind of person who acts cool and cuts class and stuff. You get the feel of it. Not precisely *pimp* cause obviously pimp has some not-so-ayu meanings. Oh but the best part was her impersonation of a charaiko. Simply priceless. "nee nee ano saa ano saa" ROFLMAO

Oh, I see! Thanks for explaining!

Yeah, Ayu is rather cute and funny when she forgets her lyrics! Her reactions are just so funny. Especially from CDL and the famous "Voyage" performance.

I don't think it's a case of her being mediocre.. I don't think mediocre performers would even get as many chances to perform as Ayu does anyway. I think it's normal for someone to not remember a song that hasn't been sung for years, but sometimes I think she's out-of-whack [CDL is an example, cause she probably got caught in the moment and probably fumbled a line or two with HEAVEN and Boys&Girls].

[if anyone's bored, they can make a comparison between her total live performances and the ones where she's messed up LOL]

Heh, if you look only at the Trauma performances, Ayu's batting average isn't very good.

Well, it'll probably be hard to try tracking every single one of her lives.. o_o

Unless one counts them up at eneabba or something :]

(lol at CDL05-06, didn't she say something like "..I can never remember the lyrics to Trauma T_T")

Oh hell no she's not mediocre . Having proven herself and continuing to prove herself, she gets plenty of chances to perform, doesn't she? I was wondering whether there's a significant number of people who see it as mediocre. When considering just the Japanese audience, I think it is especially important because it is her main audience. You think all the Ayu critics call her out for forgetting lyrics now and then? I'm not suggesting that it might be a good idea if she tried to be a perfectionist with respect to performance. She already seems to be a perfectionist regarding controlling her image (looking at her pics/PVs overall, I think that's a plus). I'm all for her having a darn good time on stage with the audience. It's part of her magic . A perfectionist attitude on stage is probably a bad idea in her case.
