Group Ayumi Hamasaki Songs

Often when ayumi hamasaki releases a new song, a lot fo people go "this is a new [insert name of old song]". Some of her songs resemble each other more than others, and some songs seems to be related. So how would you group ayu's songs and which is her most unique ones that doesen't sound like anything else?

You don't have to mention all of her songs.

Mine:

Spoiler:
I always felt that she had this ongoing upbeat-fun pop song thing which would include Boys&Girls - AUDIENCE - (no song off I am is really like this) - July 1st - Angel's song - replace or honey - STEP you /fairyland - BLUE BIRD

The only ones that I've actually thought about, and think sound very similar in style is the up-beat songs: ANGEL'S SONG, HONEY and BLUE BIRD, by coinsindence all of them happen to be uppercase titles.

I sometimes mix up AUDIENCE and UNITE!, they also belong together, in a way, to me.

Same for me, I need to hear the "capping" hands to remember it is audience, or to see the "special" choregraphy for UNITE! (arms up and down)

I think evolution stays quite unique; that's why I love it!

I didn't go by albums...!

Similar:
Blue Bird, Fairyland, and Greatful Days
All have that upbeat, summer theme.

Carols and No Way to Say
They both have snow in them....(not counting Appears).

Memorial Address, Seasons, and You

Boys & Girls and Unite!
About freedom...?

Because of You and [Miss]Understood.
Songs that come to my mind when I feel angsty and/or sad.

Unique:
Theme of a Nation '03
Ourselves
Ladies Night
Bold & Delicious
Born to Be...
Rainbow
Surreal

RAINBOW and Everlasting dream

you know. it's more interesting to see what songs are unique.. that stand alone in Ayu's discography.. I'd say Bold & Delicious and kanariya might be the only ones.

I'd agree. Perhaps addingourselves to make it three. "M" used to be very unique untill Free&Easy came along.

^ Two songs that should never be performed live? XD (Actually, it'd be nice to finally hear kanariya live one day, but I wonder if we'd regret it?)

Hmm.

To me, vogue and INSPIRE seemed to be together because they have that certain sound to the song. I want to say it sounds Egyptian or some time of Middle Eastern sound.

I have to agree on that those two have an exotic touch that they share with eachother .

I also think that connected and everywhere nowhere is a bit related, they rely so much on only the beat and create awesome songs together with the lyrics. everywhere nowhere is way more happy-up-beat than connected though.

^ They also seem to be the songs that was composed once, you know what I mean? Someone like CREA and CMJK have composed many of Ayu's songs; everywhere nowhere is the only song composed by pop.

More often than not, I find that Ayu's songs tend to be unique from one another and stand on their own. However, I will say, her techo-influenced rock songs, especially evolution, UNITE! and Naturally from I am... feel very similar to one another. I've always thought of evolution as a rip off of SURREAL, albeit a good rip-off that improves on the formula, so I didn't really mind that. UNITE! though I felt was almost a carbon copy of evolution and SURREAL, and Naturally was too blatantly similar to And Then and its other aforementioned predecessors.

Born To Be... and Bold & Delicious have that chorus thing going on.
fairyland, Greatful days, ANGEL'S SONG, July 1st, and BLUE BIRD all have the poppy theme.
evolution and UNITE! just sound similar to me, as do RAINBOW and everlasting dream.
Also, Replace and Liar make me think of anime openings.

Unique songs would include M, Ladies Night, and ourselves.
