We've heard JEWEL of them 8, so 7... and that is still a huge amount of new material.

They'll probably promote at least one more song before the album release, or even more, when it gets closer ... but I do think we'll at least have 4 never heard songs on the album.

I really think that 1 mil is really optimistic - as other people have said, I would guess somewhere between 700k and 800k.

As to what Micster said, it really depends on the actual songs themselves, I would think. I mean, having 8 new tracks is like a double-edged sword - if they were bad, I'd start to worry, but if they were somewhere between mediocre and bearable to good, then I would say it'd have a pretty good chance even if she were to only promote only 1 or 2 of those songs.

since this album is closer to ayu's style (as opposed to mu, which sorta like a GEO style), I think this album will sell better in Japan this time..

But I think that with this early release in the Oricon year and high hype for it..

She might just be able to sell a jillion copies.

If she did I think her sales would then be doomed to decline into nothingness, you don't have two peaks and then keep on selling, hehe.

It still has a possibility of selling a million copies, I don't doubt that, but 800k seem more likely to me.

I think a lot of people didn't buy (m)u because the album tracks were very.. bleh.

I bet this time, the album tracks will be more refined... and maybe even include like the 2nd coming of alterna or SEASONS..

a new breakthrough requires a pre-freakin' popular single. She doesn't have one this year, so I dun think Secret will be a miracle.

But I dun think it will sell less than 800K anywayz

Well, I think it can do at least as good as MU. Here's why:

Advantages of "Secret" Release:
- Large amount of new material
- Some album-track promotion (JEWEL and hopefully more)
- No extremely dramatic style changes like B&D
- Publicity stunt that touched the fans emotionally
- (This is where I hope for a really pretty cover)
- Christmas season!! It's released just in time for Christmas shopping sprees. I can personally relate to this one since I wouldn't be getting it so soon unless my mom offered to buy it for me as a Christmas gift.

Disadvantages of (m)u release:
- Dramatic style changes
- A lot of GEO
- Ugly covers
- Release date wasn't very well chosen since most people were probably broke thanks to good ol' Christmas.
- No album track promotion
- Not very much new material

That's pretty much it, there's also the fact that (m)u has a crazy amount of singles released, which Secret had very few, I don't know if that's an advantage or disadvantage.

I certainly hope this album will sell more than 1 million copies. Hopefully the covers, songs and pvs will be decent..and hopefully the new songs will be good and will change the overall quality of the songs in the album

Of course it will!!! I was actually very surprised why the hell "(miss)understood" sold only 850k despite that the album is just awesome... I am actually hoping that "Secret" will sell over 2 millions. Both previously released singles were splendid. The reason why Ayumi's sells are slowly falling from time to time is not that she loses her popularity or something, like some people like to say. There are just TOO MANY artists at Japanese market right now.

I wonder why people count "JEWEL" as an old song, since it's quite new. I wish Ayumi the best!!! She can do this, because she is awesome!! I'm gonna bug my parents for making me a credit card ASAP just to buy "Secret".

One can only genuinely freaking HOPE so.

She needs to come out with some SPECTACULAR material.

I often get disappointed in some expectations, and yet I don't think I'll be disappointed by "Secret" since it has strong singles, I just feel that it'll be even more awesome than WE WISH.

I just remembered (m)u came with a photobook and if this album doesnt come with anything special besides the poster, it might not sell as well. (I think) but then again, I rather (m)u had a better cover than having a extra photobook. I have a feeling the new album cover will be better...coz of the poster
