Do you think Secret will sell more than 1 millon copies?

It's a bit premature to think of this. After the first week sales are revealed, then a projection can be drawn. But I think we need to take into account how the sales of (miss) understood were. The question is will it sell more than (m)u?

all her new singles is not what i expect.. i realy hope this album sucsess but i doubt it.

it will reach 400K in its first week and gain 800K at the end..
(M)U is a good album but the promotion, the covers and the single is dissapointing ... well i definitly gonna buy [secret].. but not hoping this album be a 'huge' hit ..

Her sales has been fluctuating a lot.

If you compare the lowest selling single of (miss)understood, Bold & Delicious, ~130k copies, to the lowest selling single of Secret, ~186k copies, it looks promising.

A bit far fetched, especially considering that the highest selling single of (miss)understood is way higher than BLUE BIRD.

Considering what devilayu said, I do think this album will sell better than (miss)understood, but I doubt it will hit the million.

Ayu's new trend this far has been down, and more down, I think that with the release of this album we will know for sure if that trend will continue.

It's pretty awesome you figured she'll be rapping on this album, imagine, that will give us new versions of all the songs released on the singles.

Startin' will sound awesome, I bet you.

I wonder how fans will react the next time she releases a mini album, the sales will be half compared to the previous album!

The thing about (miss)understood is that it had fantastic tracks, but on the outside it was slightly... blah.

Like, if I was just someone who was looking for a CD to buy and didn't wanna bother previewing CDs.. I'd probably NOT choose Ayu's scary... covers.. D:

I think in the end, this album will get Ayu's usual 500k+ first week [she's had that for a while anyway] and then all that the sales will be up to after that will be the consistency of the sales.. hopefully they only decrease by 30% a week.

I wonder, BLUE BIRDs drop was ... what ... 70%? And then 60, 50, 40, 30 per week.

With Ayus kind of first weeks I strongly doubt that she'll have a small drop like that ... well, small drop, for being Ayu.

Roughly 40% drop in the case of Ma and 60% in the case of MS ... considering that (m)u had 650k sales in two weeks, that would be like 450k first week + 200k 2nd week, or around there.

If the 'trend' of lower first weeks followed by an even weaker 2nd week continues, we might be seeing the very lowest selling album once again.

Yes, that's another 'thing' that might have reduced the sales of it, but all the singles, except B&D, was very nice selling ones. Previously, when she had nice selling singles of any amount, the albums would sell well, too.

I don't know if it's just us people here who are making up all those theories about why (m)u sold so low, it can also simply be that after 8 years people might consider themselves as owners of enough Ayu albums and not feel like buying another.

It's very possible that the 'casual' collector of Ayu albums also looked at the cover and thought that the CD is nothing to have in their shelf, but to be honest, the sales of (m)u was not bad, neither was they very much lower than Ma's sales. Ma's sales, on the other hand, was bad, if you're to compare, even if it was a mini album.

it really depends on the promotion, and also the album cover. (m)U had a terrible cover, and i think that is why it sold so badly.

I doubt Ayu would go that low. BLUE BIRD had one of Ayu's Best Covers, and it sold heaps compared the the bad covered Startin'/Born To Be..., so maybe this will be the same case with Secret?

I think it was also because of promotion, as you said. BLUE BIRD was on so many Music Station and Music Fighter episodes than Startin'/Born To Be.../Teens

Well, it really wasn't bad.. after (miss)understood, I don't think you could get any worse than that.

The photoshoot for Startin' was quite 'classy'.. with the inner leaflet's photos differing for each version <3 I just can't put my finger on why it didn't sell as well as it could've..
