I do miss the Nelly Furtado of Folklore. I only wish she didn't have to evoke the "sexy Latina" image. Oh well, it's good to know she's exploring other musical directions.

Bumping this up because Say It Right has become Nelly's second Billboard #1! I love the song but didn't think it would have much mainstream appeal, so this is a very nice surprise. It entered the chart in November and has now dethroned Beyonce's Irreplaceable.

Are you serious? I didn't know! That would be the second from Loose, after Promiscuous?

She does sing Portuguese songs on her tours sometimes.

She also recorded a few Portuguese songs here and there... like there was one on an international version of Whoa! Nelly (Onde Estas).

She also sings in Italian.

Yes, it's her 2nd #1 from Loose! Maneater never made it to #1 on Billboard.

^Say It Right>Maneater

I hope Nelly can match the key songs from Loose in the future, she is definately one of those artists who I could listen to for ages.

I think (If I remember correctly, and it's not Spanish) she sang Maneater in Portuguese for the Portugal version of Loose.

Say It Right has so grown on me. I never really saw it as a single, but now that it is it really seems to work.

Shame about the Timbaland 'Do It' legal thingumajig. I don't know if it was ever going to be released anyway, but I would have liked a video of that song.

So in most places that means she's had at least 4 singles from Loose. I wonder if she'll just start a new album now or release anything else from Loose.

I'd like to hear her sing more in Portuguese, though I've really enjoyed her spanish stuffs I never thought Say it Right would have much mainstream appeal either, but I'm glad it did!

Also All Good Things is released as a single now too, so that'd be 5?

Yeah, that whole 'different releases in different areas' thing is a bit confusing, but at least you can get more videos at the same time

I'm really, really lookin' forward to Nelly's spanish album now, but first, i'm more lookin' forward to Jennifer first spanish album! Woohoo!

I think Nelly would be good in it if she got the right person to make music together with her like Juanes or sumething...

Really, is this the only Nelly thread?

I saw her live a couple weeks ago, she was great. Much better than the show I went to back in.... 02? The first two opening acts sucked, a lot, but the third, Saukertes, was good. He came back and did Timbaland's part for Promiscuous.

Nelly had a great show. It was a LONG set, mostly Loose songs and all her other successful singles from before. She had four outfits and way more energy than I could ever dream of. She even sang Give It To Me, which I didn't expect, but I really like that song (save JT) so..uh..no complaints here.

I just bought Loose a few days ago, out of pure adventure...ive never really liked her, and i thought the album would be like mainstream hip-hop...but it's so amazing! i love how she's pretty much reinvented herself! The videos are great, the songs are even better, and she looks great! I can't wait til the Spanish album!

I LOVE TE BUSQUE AND MANEATER!!!
