What do the numbers mean? Sorry if that's a dumb question, but I never understood what they meant.

The numbers mean how many times they have been on Kouhaku, I assume. Some of the artists on there have （初） beside their name to indicate it's their first time to be on Kouhaku.

If anybody wants romaji for the names, I can do that in a bit.

In my opinion, Red team has always done well with their pop music. The White Team has always done well with the traditional and enka music. Kohaku is always fun to watch.

It's not really a kind of competition. Although it's made up of two teams, and one of them will end up as the "winner".

Yeah, it's normally available on BT a couple days after it airs. And I'm sure at least Ayu's part will be uploaded here.
